TES is far better than SSLP.

Even if it's filler, it's still great. probably his best filler song.

No, it's not even great. It's an okay song.

His best filler song would be Amityville.

I'm not implying, I'm stating. And filler doesn't = bad.

Amytiville is a good song but the difference in quality when compared to the rest of MMLP is noticeable. You may not think so, but I do and most people do.

SSLP is my second favorite behind MMLP. I think the MMLP has better beats although lyrically the SSLP is more fun to listen to.

It's something that Eminem doesn't do a lot (Back in the day), it helped building the base of the track, it supported the horror-movie concept .. Not to mention all the horror movies references in the track, it's unique and timeless, it IS a concept, nobody done it before (though not a concept rule) and it was build around an idea.

So all Relapse songs have a concept?

Actually thanks for bringing that up, raping celebrities = a concept, and talking with an accent on a whole song/album = a concept

Must Be The Ganja? A rap about Ganja = concept

Stan fits MMLP in every way. The whole song's about not taking his lyrics seriously/literally, which is pretty much THE theme of MMLP. How doesn't it fit the flow of the album?

The whole song's about a fan obsessed with Eminem, which is a fictional story played that sounded like he had conscience, he gives a shit about people, and for once he's actually calm .. And he's writing his fans? He said he doesn't in The Way I Am. Who Knew is the song that's about not taking his lyrics seriously, and is 100% fitting the theme of the album better, and it's a better song than Stan.

I don't wanna get in on this but I think Stan is Eminems greatest masterpiece. :y:

So what's your GPA? I assume it was 1.5 or lower if this is your opinion. I have seen some of your posts and you are by far one of the stupidest mother fuckers I have ever encountered in my life (including real life but you probably don't know what that is). For christs sake your name on here is based off a fucking VIDEO GAME CHARACTER. Do you ever get outside bro? They have this thing in the sky called clouds that are pretty cool, maybe you can even play some of those things you've heard about before called sports. Lowlife.

Lol @ irrelevant people always attacking me. Are you fucking butthurt that I think COE is a filler song in SSLP? You might as well kill yourself because most people think that. On top of that, the consensus is TES > SSLP so go cry about it, you whining bitch.

And I'm glad an irrelevant queer thinks I'm one of the stupid motherfuckers ever. My name is Master Chief, your name is MrChow. That sounds like the stage name of a Asian male porn star in a gay adult film. And you're avatar is well... Are you this Coleon kid again? Please say yes because I have a lot of ammo to use against you, mister.

Now. Amadeo to respond to your post. My definition of filler is a song that is of lower quality in comparison to most (or all) songs in an album. COE is definitely the weakest track in SSLP, in my opinion. I understand your definition though. I think Square Dance and Without Me have a concept though.

I always see you post picking fights and getting completely fucking dismantled in the process. You embarrass yourself on a daily basis. Do you know what my name is a reference to? Nah of course not you've never left your house or socialized with real humans in public. Your name is a fucking video game character. A VIDEO GAME CHARACTER. How many bottles of acne cream do you go through every month. I'm gonna say the over/under is about 5. Who the fuck is Coleon? Don't try changing the subject Master Chode.

No, idiot. People don't always attack me, irrelevant people such as you (that no one give a shit about) attack me because they wanna make themselves known for being ethered or they just wanna waste my time but I gotta time to waste so it's cool.

Lol @ me getting dismantled by people in fight. Fucking LOL :' (

The Hangover is a retarded, forgettable movie so no, I wouldn't remember that you name yourself after a GAY chinese faggot in a completely unfunny movie. With that said, it's funny how you attack me for having the name of a video game character when you have the name of a what I just described. So, I take it you think everyone who plays video games is a pizza faced nerds? Wow, an idiot with idiotic assumptions. Would not have expected that.

Lol @ Coleon being ashamed of who he is :'( Shut up, you obese cunt. Go listen to Born This Way and learn to live with yourself just the way you are because nothing is gonna change that unless you kill yourself - something I recommend.

LOLOLO @ Master Chode. Even funnier that you called me 12 years old before that. Jesus.

If you would like to continue to believe I am this "Coleon" guy then go ahead but it won't bother me while you post seething multiple paragraphs while I have hot sex with the hottest girls America has to offer. Don't take the acne thing personally Master Chode, I know it's a very tough subject for you but there are cures! Try seeing your local dermatologist and see if it's possible to make your face look like less like the surface of the moon. Also is Hangover really a forgettable movie? Weird because I remember it being one of the most successful movies of 2009. Just because mommy doesn't let you watch big boy movies doesn't mean it's a bad movie.

Stop trying to convince yourself that I'm getting worked up over you. The only thing that you've said to offend me whatsoever has been "Master Chode" (LOL). It's honestly embarassing. I suggest you stop using it for YOUR own sake. And, I have the ability to write multiple paragraphs in a short amount of time. Yes, the kid with a supposed 1.5 GPA.

I can see how this is shaping up to being a troll after all. "Having sex with the hottest girl America has to offer"? If this isn't a troll then I'm obviously arguing with a WAYYY more inferior being than I assumed I was arguing with. Then we dive right inside the acne jokes which lead me to believe that you're still 13 or you have acne yourself because it's kind of obvious that my picture has not surfaced but that's 13 years of age for ya, huh? Hangover fucking sucked, please feel free to cry over it. Now, here's one flaw in your next statement. If "mommy" never lets me watch big boy movies then how would I know Hangover was bad? Didn't think that one through did, MrChow?

Stop denying that your Coleon, Nate. Just admit it. You may be a horrible rapper with a laughable delivery but at least manned up to the situation :y:

MrChow wrote:So you admit "Master Chode" offended you? Vintage low self esteem. I wouldn't say your wrote them in a short amount of time, it took you probably 15 minutes just to write that simple reply. It's ok, I know you have problems spelling and probably had to spellcheck some worst first. You seem so insecure about yourself. You could simply deny that you have acne and that your mom doesn't let you watch rated R movies but instead you created multiple seething paragraphs one after another just to prove that I'm wrong. Problems at home Master Chode? Were you molested by "daddy" when you were little and have low self esteem now? Hey man if you truly believe I'm Coleon then you are just proving that you truly have a very low GPA.

Master Chode offended me, yes. It is so fucking horrible that I feel offended for anyone that will ever see this whole argument.

It doesn't matter though, Coleon. You're delusion that makes you believe everything you say. At the end of that day there is one thing I know about you that you can't deny. You're fat and you're rapping is awful. Oops, make that two. Whatever, man.

Give me a hug. I'll boost your self-esteem. You don't have to throw your insecurities my way. I will help you through this.

Wow you're still going on with this Master Chode thing, I obviously hit a nerve there so I'll stop before you have an emotional breakdown over it. Why are you so obsessed with this "Coleon" guy? I know I'm not him but you seem to believe I am him. Do you claim every single new poster is Coleon? Why the fuck would I hug you? Are you a homosexual?

Master ChodeImage

I laugh everytime, I read that. You may be an irrelevant/awful rapper/Coleon but you have created a classic, in my eyes.

You would hug me because I'm here to help you and your blatant insecurities. If I was gay, I would let you know tbh.

Re: The Slim Shady LP.

Postby Slim Fiasco » Sep 6th, '11, 10:34

I haven't read through this thread but here's my input. The Slim Shady LP is my favorite album and also my pick for Em's best piece of work. One of the reasons is that I find this to be his most pure work in the way that he wasn't responding to any perceptions of his public image and his creativity was unaffected. He was doing everything solely to please his own taste and was hungry to come up with something different, something that Hip-Hop hadn't witnessed yet, and something that he sure as hell succeeded to do so. The period prior to all this was also the most sincere so to speak of his life as he was facing some real problems and was pretty much nothing more than a fan of the culture, as opposed to being the leading force of it. In conclusion, my first point is that the level of originality and the element of surprise was the biggest with his first release.

In relation, this is the album that has impressed me the most especially on first listen. The reasons being:

1. His flow - straight ridiculous. He was fast but not double time, he was shouting but not yelling, he was speaking but yet flowing, he was angry and extra energetic but yet it all sounded effortless. And he did repeat this with the Marshall Mathers LP but this was the first time he came through with such delivery so therefore it was more impressive. And also, I believe it's a delivery of his that is the hardest to pull off if you try it on your own. On that note, it was different than anything else which stood as a flow up to that point.

2. The rhyming - even more effortless than the flow and it was so distinctive. The ending multies of his lines were very noticeable but he still had plenty of internal ones that would slip under your radar. This was another extremely strong side of his that contributed to him being the most well-rounded rapper ever.

3. The humor - funniest album ever. And it wasn't just the lines themselves but the way he said them too. He could rap something simple like "Nan-a-boo, goo-goo ga-ga" and make you laugh your ass off. On top of that, there were all the back up vocals and effects which made it all more appealing. So considering humor is hard to achieve in rap especially on such constant basis and on one singe LP, this makes it a big plus and something that the other two albums didn't have or at least not to that extent.

Outside all this but still in close connection is the creativity and the perfection of the album. When I say perfection, I mean that it's the release of his that has the least (zero) whack verses which is mostly due to the low number of guest appearances and thankfully the lack of the idiotic Bizarre.

As for creativity and diversity just look at the songs:

a) Guilty Conscience - A great concept with Em and Dre playing the little shoulders sitting angel and devil. It was original and first of its kind (in music/Hip-Hop) as far as I know, and the introductions between the verses made it more film-a-like.

b) Brain Damage and As The World Turns - Great storytelling tracks that included excellent delivery and rhyming which makes them the best Eminem songs of that caliber. They were also very funny and the first one was even based on real life events that added a nice introspective touch to it.

c) '97 Bonnie & Clyde - The same conclusion as above can be made for this one too. Another plus is the amazing spoken-a-like delivery that was unheard of before and the imaginary of the song is wonderful and extra lively.

d) My Fault - Same goes for this one too though the rhyming on here wasn't as spectacular.

e) Role Model, Still Don't Give A Fuck - The two bomb songs of the albums. Put the Eminem that rapped on these on a track with any other Eminem and he'll slaughter "him". Braggadocio rap at its finest, with superb delivery, rhyming and a perfect combination of seriousness and goofiness.

f) Rock Bottom and to a lesser extent If I Had. The emotional songs of the album that still kept it raw and were corny-free. The first one is often considered the best track on the LP and one of his greatest in general. A great way to be introspective but still rhyme the shit out of the verses.

So to recap it, The Slim Shady LP is to me the most diverse and well rounded release of Shady's career as well as the most original one which is why I consider it my favorite and the best from Em.
