If you mean that he has a different criteria considering he knows how it's done (in the best way possible) than yes. But I was referring to him being aware of small details regarding the music. Like, when Jay-Z confused Big L's Ebonics and thought it was called Broken Language which is a Smoothe da Hustler's song. I don't think that Em is on of top of things when it comes to stuff like that.

Amadeo wrote:No offense, but you're kind of clueless. Rap music is Eminem's FULL-TIME JOB. He has said numerous times in recent interviews that he's been "studying the game."

I doubt any of us know more about rap music than him, or even the current state of mainstream rap. Yes, he'd know who Hopsin is (because of Royce). No, he wouldn't bother decoding Lupe's shit metaphors. He'd know everything there is to know about Jay-Z and Kanye West's recent music.

I'm sorry but that's bullshit, just because he knows the technicalities of rap and that's his job definitely doesn't mean he knows more about rap, whether the culture or current events than the average dedicated fan. Slim Fiasco pretty much expanded on what he meant, meaning he knows the ins and outs of making a good song (which I'm not even sure he still knows how) butkeeping up with the culture or relevance in the genre is completely different.

Sometimes I wish I didn’t know too much. I would have just enjoy his music like a regular music fan. I became too highly critical to this shit. :( And yes, even though I hate to admit it, I certainly agree with you.

Exactly. I think people tend to forget that he didn't start off as a mainstream artist lol. I'm sure he listens to some underground artists.
