None of them are spit rapid-fire. None of them are complicated word bending metaphors that take half an hour to figure out.
They are simple, direct, clever, and well thought out rhymes that are spit smoothly and cleanly.

:facepalm Because Survival isn't simple, direct, and clever. It also doesn't have well thought out rhymes spit smoothly and cleanly.

There's a reason we remember these lines/verses so well and love them so much. They're not Em trying to have the most intricate rhymes and punch-lines possible and the best technical flow. They are 100% Eminem being himself. Funny, witty, vulgar, aggressive, observant...

Quit fucking acting like Em didn't go over every single verse with a fine toothed comb, making sure everything sounded perfect. He had some great and funny punchlines on MMLP too. :facepalm

1st, Survival was anything but smooth. It was the same Recovery/HTS gruff yelling shit and his flow was choppy.
2nd, there's a difference between going over something many times with "a fine toothed comb", and something being forced. A ton of lines on Survival sounded forced, and most of all it lacked personality like the majority of his post-Relapse (even post-Encore) material has. It doesn't feel genuine.

I thought Hell the Sequel was really dope. Though he had the rapid fast pace on some and yelled on some, it worked well for me on that CD.

Welcome 2 Hell, Fast Lane, Above the Law, Loud Noises, Living Proof, Echo....he went HAM.

W2H is godlike

I'm probably the only one that thinks Em got murdered on Above the law

Agree 100%. A lot of his stuff post Re-Up hasn't sounded genuine. For instance, No Apologies was dope as hell. He sounded natural there. He has sounded great and natural on some stuff since obviously and has still put out solid efforts, but a lot of it sounds forced at times. That's why even an average or ehhh song like Drips on TES was still tolerable because Em sounded natural and great on it with his verse.

HTS was sick. The rapid flow got to be a little much sometimes, but it meshed really well with Royce's flow. They both demolished that EP

Ducked the fuck way down, waitin to straight jump out

Oh - you want me to watch my mouth, how?
Take my fuckin eyeballs out, and turn em around?
Look - I'll burn your fuckin house down, circle around
and hit the hydrant, so you can't put your burning furniture out.

I can see why the fuck I disgust you
I must be aller
gic to failure cause every time I come close to it

Exactly!! That's why I don't hate Encore with a passion like a lot of people do. It's definitely mediocre by Em standards, but at least it had personality.
I feel like ever since his return from the hiatus, Em has kinda lost his personality both inside and outside of the booth. Any interviews are so monotone and serious, and it feels like a lot of the music is the same. I hate feeling that way, but I do

I still think Encore is his worst album, but only because of the major lows.

The highs on Encore were about equal to the highs of Recovery and Relapse for me. Never Enough, Yellow Brick Road, Like Toy Soldiers, Spend Some Time, Mockingbird were all great records IMO. But neither Recovery or Relapse had stuff nearly as bad as My First Single, Ass Like That, Big Weenie, Just Lose It, though We Made You comes pretty close IMO.

Of course, I'm not in love and don't jack off once a day to Relapse like 90% this forum does. I thought it was a solid or decent album, but i despised the accents aside from a few tracks.
