But we need more personal experiences in our lyrics. Eminem is known for this and this album is dripping with self reflection and personal emotion, more so than Recovery's poor excuse for reflection.

Yep.

And critics seriously credit Drake with bringing emotion in to hip-hop, LOL. Or thinking his self-analysis of his flaws is good? You have to be fucking kidding me.

Drake is fortune cookie philosophy and blockbuster movie schmaltz.

Em's self-analysis of his insecurities, his neurotic rambling over his flaws and his life's tragedies in this endless dramatic turmoil is fully realized on MMLP2. Genius album.

Yeah I agree. I'm loving this album but right now I think it would be stupid to put it anywhere higher then fourth in his catalogue.

I disagree. It's also a classic, but it has a handful of songs that, while still dope, aren't as good as anything on MMLP2. Hell, except for the Em verses, Remember Me, Bitch Please II, and Amityville aren't as good as anything on MMLP2.

1) none of those songs are from TES..
2) I agree with Eric.. Y'alls opinions are really out there to me with this better than TES mess.

Luckily everyone has a right to their opinions.

Also I can't stress enough.. TIME-TIME-TIME-TIME-TIME TES is from the early 2000s.. this album is from yesterday lol..

When it can be replayed front to back in 10 years we will decide if it's better than TES.. (it won't be)

Not to sound like a dick, but TES is the master piece of a rapper in the height of his prime ( 2002 ), and the MMLP2 can't fuck with it. It might be even better in some departments but overall ...
I mean this album is everything I needed and more, but come on...

The Marshall Mathers LP and The Eminem Show aren't just "very good" or "crazy good" or even "extremely good". They are two of the greatest albums in all of hip-hop.

Anyone who thinks MMLP2 is up there with those masterpieces of masterpieces... I mean... I'm yet to be able to decide just how good it is but one thing is clear... it is not anywhere close to that almost superhuman level.

MMLP and TES are what register him as a GOAT. MMLP2 is 4th place.

The Eminem Show had the impossible task to follow up after the MMLP and not dissapoint.
That alone shows how good of an album that was.

Your context was off.. you were arguing the point of TES
I can't take you seriously when you say The Monster is better than the weaker tracks of MMLP.

Like any other piece of music there's tracks which you wonder why they have their place on the album. But everyone's preference is different.

I think this album is consistently dense, interesting, funny, sad, light-hearted, depressing and poignant. Would be a fitting close to the Eminem legend.
