You really think his flow is now is "pretty good"?

Whenever I listen to any of the songs where he's constantly pausing I'm immediately taken out of the mood. Especially when I listened to Bad Guy. Shit was awful with the "EXIS----TED"

Yeah, man. He was overly dedicated on making SSLP the best debut he could possibly make because it mattered. The man just released his eighth album so I doubt he shares the same overwhelming sense of responsibility.

That one line is the only one I hated in the song, the only reason the song isn't a 10.

Em drops bars on this album though. The 3rd and final verse of Bad Guys is unfuckingdeniable.

So Much Better is classic Shady homie, Legacy he rhymes basically the whole damn song, Asshole though the beat is meh he delivers bars on that one, Evil Twin, Groundhog Day, Baby. There's too many dope tracks to not consider this a very good album. Only a few missteps.

Jay sounded lazy on MCHG like he wan't even feeling what he was saying, that sure as fuck didn't happen on MMLP2 with Em.

Excuse me, but why can't he make something as good as his first three albums? Can someone explain that to me in some sort of logical way? I've read that 100's of times over the past several years and in the countless threads I've been in. I'm not buying that he can't be as good, or OH MY GOD, dare I say it, BETTER THAN his younger self. I'm quite possibly the oldest person that frequents these message boards (30), and have been a fan since the SSLP. I obviously love that album, but I still think this is better than the SSLP... Why am I so wrong for thinking that? Can't he have FOUR classics? (5 for me, I love Relapse)

I'm 31.....no man. There was a vibe that can never be recreated that those albums had. It was the perfect storm and everything was on point.

If he had strong songs like bad guy instead of survival monster and asshole, would you still say the same ?

It's not about what songs are on the album and which songs aren't, it's about what makes the strong songs so good.

Listen to MMLP 2 - notice the choppy flow and some bad punchlines. Listen to SSLP - notice the normal flow and little to no bad punchlines.

Notice how he isn't so considered with rhyme schemes on SSLP but he really is on MMLP 2. That's what makes SSLP > MMLP 2.

dude...

your opinion is really stupid.

Fuck that "his first three albums are untouchable" shit. That's bullshit. He could release album better than SSLP, MMLP and TES combined and you wouldn't admit that it's better. Pathetic.

There's a difference in judging the impact an album had culturally and socially, and judging the album for its quality. In terms of strictly the albums, MMLP 2 is pretty damn close to MMLP, if not better in some aspects.

Nothing ever will be close to what MMLP was for America and the world at the time. Nothing. So if youre still hoping for that, then that explains a lot of your displeasure in life.

It's good. But his flow isn't quite as good as it once was, I don't even think the biggest die hard Em fan could deny that.

Yeah but the choppy flow here and there does grow a little tiresome, but it doesn't take anything away from the album.

God, you guys want 100% praise and that's it. You guys can hear any critiques whatsoever. Then you proceed to talk about displeasure's in my life....the fuck??? Who the fuck are you faggot???

I gave the album an 8/10, with the possibility of reaching an 8.5 down the line probably, which is .5 lower than I rate SSLP.

The current poll results are quite surprising to me.

Give it a year. This album is undeniably better than his last three, which I still enjoyed for the most part, but a year from now probably only a select group will rate it higher than any of his 3 classics IMO.

Only .5 seperating them but you say there is absolutely no touching the first 3....

That's if some of the lower songs like Asshole, Stronger Than I Was, Berzerk become better over time or if one of the really good songs becomes great over time. Idk if that'll happen.

Right now, there's a clear and solid 1 between this album and SSLP. Mainly because SSLP doesn't have anything as weak as Survival/The Monster. Not even close IMO.

I just can't imagine Eminem touching them, just like Jay will never touch his 3 and Nas will never touch his 2.
