"Eminem Set for No. 1 on Billboard 200 With Year's Second-Biggest Week"

Eminem is set to rock the top of the Billboard 200 albums chart next week, as his new album, "The Marshall Mathers LP 2," is on course to earn the second-largest sales week of the year and debut at No. 1.

Released today (Nov. 5), industry sources forecast the new album to sell between 700,000 and 750,000 copies by the end of the tracking week on Sunday, Nov. 10. That should mark the second-biggest sales week of the year for an album, surpassed only by the debut of Justin Timberlake's "The 20/20 Experience," which opened with 968,000, according to Nielsen SoundScan

Currently, the year's second-biggest week is owned by Drake's "Nothing Was the Same," which entered at No. 1 with 658,000.

I think and really really hope it gets over 1 mil. There's physical copies, iTunes versions, and I think they'll sell a lot of copies from the CoD promotion too. It's on the receipt.

You guys honestly think he will surpass 741,000 that Recovery did? Hype and reception seems much bigger this time but over all music sales are lowering. Totally hope it does though.

I'm 99% sure, as a chart studier, that MMLP2 will top 1mil easy in the first week. I've watched albums for years and this is the first time I've ever seen an album top the charts for more than 1 day off pre-orders along, let alone for an entire week... off pre-orders... the buzz from Love Game is HUGE and contributing, same with Headlights. Same with Monster, and to a lesser extent Berzerk and Survival. Oh yeah... Rap God. I was watching the charts when JT did 987k first week. The album had nowhere near the hype this one has. Nowhere near.

Tbh I don't think this album has anywhere near the amount of hype his previous albums did. Honestly, none of my friends even knew MMLP2 was out.

I hear what you're saying. But... statistically and, if you look, the data shows that this album was extremely anticipated. You can just look at the fact that it was #1 on iTunes and amazon for an ENTIRE WEEK off pre-orders alone.

I has some doubt here, but I will still say that anything above 600, 000 is good. Besides, longevity is everything. What makes MMlp1 great owns part of the reason to constant and stable catalogue sales, so do Eminem Show and Recovery(this is yet hard to tell).
