"I feel compelled to remind ya'll. Relapse is an ill, dark album. Ya'll know the formula. Just be patient." - From Dawaun Parker's Twitter.

Some of you on this forum have something to learn of that message..

I was tempted to start a whole new topic about this even tho its written before

I wasnt reffering to you lol, SACJB anyone, the ones that judges the WHOLE albums sound out of this one single, even they get explained that the 1st singles of Eminems album had never been equal to what the album sound like.

past 2 Twitters from Royce: http://twitter.com/NickelNine

"Trust me when I say this The Relaspe is to Em like what The Black Album was to Jay . but only better no shots ,, im jus sayin be patient"

"Note to fans please dont believe that "We Made You" is a sign of whats to come,Im mad at Em but I understand why he chose this as a single"

I personally wanted to see what others outside this board think about the song and this is what I found while i got bored in one of my classes and decided to surf the net on my ipod :smoking:
-non hip hop heads love this song
-most girls love this song
-nerdy people love this song (y'all know what i mean lol)
-kids love this song
-people who look like fags on their profile pics love this song (also y'all know what i mean)
-hardcore hip hop fans say its whack
-a lot of black people claiming to be "gangster" :p say "hip hop just died" lol

thats 5-2 so Em is winning haha...and most true hip hop heads and hardcore rap fans don't buy CD's..the streets also don't buy music so you can see the rationale with this song choice

if you have nothing to do, like me, while I'm watching the Red Sox game...go to twitter and search "Eminem"...every minute someone puts something about him

You're right. I'm wrong. -adds back swagger points for James-

Secondly this song is NOT whack. It's retarded to say it's whack. Souja Boy is whack. Lil Wayne is whack. Millie Vanillie was whack. Vanilla Ice was whack. Was this the best song I've ever heard? No... not in the slightest. But was it the worst? Or even as bad as half the shit on the radio that I have to lsiten to for hours at a time at work? Hell fucking no. So if this song is "whack" everybody needs to think of a completely new vernacular to describe popular music today because it's literally just stupid to use the same word.

Ummm... It's wack. Everything else you listed is wack too. Lil Wayne, Soulja Boy, those lipsyncing dudes... And We Made You. Wackness. If you want to use a more vulgar word to describe Wayne's music, then that's fine. But it does not change the fact that We Made You is wack. I'm not gonna bump up We Made You's quality based on other people's comparisons. The song is still wack. That's like if I were to eat a meal, right? And it didn't taste good at all. And then I were to eat a pile of dog shit, and that didn't taste good at all either. Now obviously, the dog shit is worse than eating the other food, but they both fall into the distasteful category... Ya know what I mean???

...I suck at analogies :(

Oh and Tru if you can defend fucking Fack at any point in your life in any mindset in any situation short of life or death then this song should literally be like the second coming. I mean seriously what were you expecting? Were you expecting him to drop The Way I Am for his first single? Recreate Lose Yourself? Take it back to the pill popping days that inspired My Name Is and The Real Slim Shady? He's NOT the same person anymore, he's just not. After MMLP he changed. After TES he changed. After Encore, well we've yet to really see that.

The reason I defended FACK was 'cause it was a fuckin' track off a Greatest Hits compilation album that was obvious he was pulling teeth for to create. Em even admitted it in an interview later... He had writer's block after he came from rehab. I took FACK for what it was: just a song to put on Curtain Call so they could slap that "3 EXCLUSIVE NEW TRACKS" label on the CD so people would buy it.

And I am perfectly aware of Em's formula. I know his first singles are supposed to be catchy. I know he usually makes fun of celebrities in his songs. I know this. I do, I do, I do. So for the people saying, "Well, what did you expect? Just take the song for what it is, which his usualy poppy first single blah blah blah," it's more than that. This is Em's first single in over 4 years. 4 years. And whether he likes it or not, this is his comeback. I know Em is supposed to be this reclusive rapper who shuts himself in his house all day, but he must be aware of all the hype and talk that he's the one to "save Hip-Hop" and all that shit. I mean, that's not even just coming from fans, but from his industry peers as well. They needed another Eminem album to come out, and this is what he releases as an introduction to it?

I don't mind Em making a song like this... Like I stated before, I even found some entertainment value in the song. I played it a few more times today and watched the video again, and yeah, it's starting to "grow on me," BUT THAT DOES NOT CHANGE HOW WACK IT IS. If Em wants to make silly songs, that's fine, I can find some joy in those songs. But to release it as a first single in over 4 years? :shakehead:

I swear to god sometimes people just WANT to bitch about Eminem. He switched his shit up and people got pissed, yet had he kept rapping about the same shit people would STILL be bitching.

You must not be addressing me because I really don't want to be the one bitching about Eminem. I have found many ways to NOT bitch about him when just about everyone was. As a matter of fact, I don't even think I'm bitching. Can't I just state my opinion? I think I've only posted in 2 threads about We Made You. I read your post. You said no one can say it's wack. I disagreed, I say it's wack.

So yes, he rhymes a lot, and he rhymes a lot well. That doesn't count for anything? He made funny lines and a funny video. But that doesn't mean anything? I mean what are we really looking for? Do we want his first single to change our lives like they always haven't?

I just think it's a sad thing when one has to listen to the acapella version of the song (YN posted it on RapRadar to all people "bitching") or watch the video with the song to see those positive aspects of the rhyming and comedy and all that. Good songs... Hell, even decent songs don't really require that.

... Honestly, are people going to bump this song in the car? Are they going to shake their asses to this in the club? I sure as hell don't think so... Now, this is just my personal experience, but I know people who are just casual music listeners and don't really understand Hip-Hop, and when they heard We Made You, they thought it was complete garbage too. It wasn't even that funny to them. So if people like them aren't feeling it, if Hip-Hop heads aren't feeling it, then what was the fucking point?

Anyway... Final thoughts. We Made You is trash. Still excited for Relapse. Chea. :y:

Defending Fack and nailing this, is fucked up. Fack was on a "Greatest hits" album ffs. Now I'm probably the only other person on this forum that has defended Eminem as much as you for Fack and encore, etc., and tried to get people to see the good points about them. But, Fack, had shit lyrics, really really bad, almost not rhyming. It's only saving grace was that it was catchy and was hilarious (Still makes me laugh), but putting it on a Greatest Hits album is one of the stupidest things Eminem has ever done. It would be kind of okay if he had it on a bonus disc or on the end of the CD as an extra track. But no, it's right in the mix with his classics, which was I'm sure a funny ass thing for him to do, but he shouldn't have done that. We Made You is 1000% better lyrically and he has an awesome rapid flow. The wack thing is his shit accent, which seems only very noticeable in the first verse. The hook is like a leech that sucks your brain out your ass it's so mindnumbingly catchy, and the beat is fuckin awesome. Which means it's gonna sell like hot cakes.

I'm just glad Eminem has put the time and effort into writing Multi's again. He could've dumbed it down for his shitty 1st single, maybe he did content wise, but the skills are there for everyone to see. If he put this much effort into flow and rhyming for his throw away single, can't wait to see the meaningful tracks on the album. Bring it on! :y:

I do hope and pray that there's not much more of that shit accent to listen to though! :n:

FACK wasn't on an album with the "classics." The songs on Curtain Call were not the best ones from Em's catalogue. They were just a compilation of all of Em's singles. Songs played on the radio and had accompanying videos. Which is why I never understood why people were offended that he put FACK or Ass Like That on there. Especially when a few months later, Em pretty much made it clear that he was struggling to find 3 new tracks to put on the CD.

... But let's just drop that subject 'cause I don't wanna get into another FACK debate. :zipped:

Yeah, I see what you mean... But the problem is, the people that see those skills already knows he has them. :(

James R. wrote:Yes I know what you mean, but at the same time the song isn't whack. It's not a great song, some would say it's barely even a decent song, but songs like Fack are whack to me. This song at least came with some creative shit in the sense of mechanics which is what people always talk about. It made me laugh just like Fack made 4D laugh hence my defending it. I found it to be entertaining which is what music is about.

Okay, fine... Except, I don't see the problem in calling it wack. Can't it be entertaining and wack at the same time??? It's like one of those movies where the jokes are so ridiculously stupid, that you can't help but laugh. But in the end, you're basically laughing at something unbelievably stupid.

... There I go again with another analogy :sweating:

So your only real problem with this song is that you've been pissing for 4 years waiting for this moment and it wasn't legendary? I get that, and I even agree with that. I wouldn't have done this for the lead single to Relapse, I would have dropped it like he dropped I'm Having a Relapse just to show people I still had it, but IT IS WHAT IT IS. I mean it's honestly stupid replying to this because it's clear that this is based solely on opinions of two of the most argumentative people on the forum, but whatevs... shits and gigs ya dig?

I wasn't expecting a legendary song. If you look at all the signs before the release, it was obvious it was going to be one of his "funny" songs. And like I've already said, I accept that; I know Em has a formula and he's sticking to it. FINE.

It's just We Made You is so far out there... It's like the most extreme "funny" song Em can make. Which is why I still don't really understand why he would use it to re-introduce himself to the world after such a long time. You said IT IS WHAT IT IS. Well, it is Em's first single in 4 years, after constant speculation and positive excitement over Relapse, which is supposed to be a beginning of the next phase of his career (Em's own words too). And it turned out to be We Made You. Shame, really...

No I wasn't addressing you. And you can have your opinion. It just happens to be wrong :)

Fuck yo smiley face.

To get the millions of people that you and me both know loved the song to be like "OMG EMINEMMMMMMM I'M SO BUYING HIS ALBUMMMM!!!!!!1111111111111111111111111"

Tru wrote:Now, this is just my personal experience, but I know people who are just casual music listeners and don't really understand Hip-Hop, and when they heard We Made You, they thought it was complete garbage too. It wasn't even that funny to them.

=\

... Oh, and quick note, one of the few things that I truly, most sincerely enjoy about We Made You, along with the video, is that it seems like Eminem is actually happy. Most fans would hate that 'cause they're so used to the self-loathing, "woe is me" Em, but it looks like he's enjoying himself. And I can appreciate that. That's the only way I can see Em succesfully defending this song (that is, if any journalist has the balls to ask him why the hell he would release that as a first single); if he just says he wanted to have a good time and come out with something light-hearted 'cause it's expected that Em will address all the bad shit he's been through in the past few years.

WHOA! Wikipedia is full of bullshit. I swear they should remove that edit button, and actually have some reliable sources write in entries.

This was just on the We Made You article:

However some other think differently, apparently even Mathers himself. In a recent exclusive interview with MTV News caster Sway, Mathers had this to say about the origins of the song, "I wrote that song in what....25 minutes? I actually had another song called "Troublemaker" planned for the first release. It kind of reminded me of 'My Name Is' in a weird way, but more of a social commentary like 'Without Me'. Honestly, We Made You was actually just a bunch of ideas I had written on paper, and than goofed off and made the song. I was writing it while waiting for Dre in the studio. When he came in he asked what I had written, and I cracked up and showed him. I thought he was gonna throw it in the trash. He was actually blown away. 'Thats some raw shit' is what he said it. In the back of my mind, i'm saying to myself 'Is he dead-ass?'. But when Dre tells you thats some raw shit, you know you have something golden. So he cooked up this beat to go with it, and we had this artist named Charmagne Tripp do the chorus. I thought it was corny at first, but you can't disobey Dre's judgment. He knows more about Good Music than anyone I know, and I know a lot of people". The interview is set to air on MTV on April 14th, 9PM Eastern time.[11].

As interesting as that sounds, do you honestly think Em said that? LMAO @ Em saying "Dead Ass".
