You're right. I'm wrong. -adds back swagger points for James-
Secondly this song is NOT whack. It's retarded to say it's whack. Souja Boy is whack. Lil Wayne is whack. Millie Vanillie was whack. Vanilla Ice was whack. Was this the best song I've ever heard? No... not in the slightest. But was it the worst? Or even as bad as half the shit on the radio that I have to lsiten to for hours at a time at work? Hell fucking no. So if this song is "whack" everybody needs to think of a completely new vernacular to describe popular music today because it's literally just stupid to use the same word.
Ummm... It's wack. Everything else you listed is wack too. Lil Wayne, Soulja Boy, those lipsyncing dudes... And We Made You. Wackness. If you want to use a more vulgar word to describe Wayne's music, then that's fine. But it does not change the fact that We Made You is wack. I'm not gonna bump up We Made You's quality based on other people's comparisons. The song is still wack. That's like if I were to eat a meal, right? And it didn't taste good at all. And then I were to eat a pile of dog shit, and that didn't taste good at all either. Now obviously, the dog shit is worse than eating the other food, but they both fall into the distasteful category... Ya know what I mean???
...I suck at analogies
Oh and Tru if you can defend fucking Fack at any point in your life in any mindset in any situation short of life or death then this song should literally be like the second coming. I mean seriously what were you expecting? Were you expecting him to drop The Way I Am for his first single? Recreate Lose Yourself? Take it back to the pill popping days that inspired My Name Is and The Real Slim Shady? He's NOT the same person anymore, he's just not. After MMLP he changed. After TES he changed. After Encore, well we've yet to really see that.
The reason I defended FACK was 'cause it was a fuckin' track off a Greatest Hits compilation album that was obvious he was pulling teeth for to create. Em even admitted it in an interview later... He had writer's block after he came from rehab. I took FACK for what it was: just a song to put on Curtain Call so they could slap that "3 EXCLUSIVE NEW TRACKS" label on the CD so people would buy it.
And I am perfectly aware of Em's formula. I know his first singles are supposed to be catchy. I know he usually makes fun of celebrities in his songs. I know this. I do, I do, I do. So for the people saying, "Well, what did you expect? Just take the song for what it is, which his usualy poppy first single blah blah blah," it's more than that. This is Em's first single in over 4 years. 4 years. And whether he likes it or not, this
is his comeback. I know Em is supposed to be this reclusive rapper who shuts himself in his house all day, but he must be aware of all the hype and talk that he's the one to "save Hip-Hop" and all that shit. I mean, that's not even just coming from fans, but from his industry peers as well. They needed another Eminem album to come out, and this is what he releases as an introduction to it?
I don't mind Em making a song like this... Like I stated before, I even found some entertainment value in the song. I played it a few more times today and watched the video again, and yeah, it's starting to "grow on me," BUT THAT DOES NOT CHANGE HOW WACK IT IS. If Em wants to make silly songs, that's fine, I can find some joy in those songs. But to release it as a first single in over 4 years?

I swear to god sometimes people just WANT to bitch about Eminem. He switched his shit up and people got pissed, yet had he kept rapping about the same shit people would STILL be bitching.
You must not be addressing me because I really don't want to be the one bitching about Eminem. I have found many ways to NOT bitch about him when just about everyone was. As a matter of fact, I don't even think I'm bitching. Can't I just state my opinion? I think I've only posted in 2 threads about We Made You. I read your post. You said no one can say it's wack. I disagreed, I say it's wack.
So yes, he rhymes a lot, and he rhymes a lot well. That doesn't count for anything? He made funny lines and a funny video. But that doesn't mean anything? I mean what are we really looking for? Do we want his first single to change our lives like they always haven't?
I just think it's a sad thing when one has to listen to the acapella version of the song (YN posted it on RapRadar to all people "bitching") or watch the video with the song to see those positive aspects of the rhyming and comedy and all that. Good songs... Hell, even decent songs don't really require that.
... Honestly, are people going to bump this song in the car? Are they going to shake their asses to this in the club? I sure as hell don't think so... Now, this is just my personal experience, but I know people who are just casual music listeners and don't really understand Hip-Hop, and when they heard We Made You, they thought it was complete garbage too. It wasn't even that funny to them. So if people like them aren't feeling it, if Hip-Hop heads aren't feeling it, then what was the fucking point?
Anyway... Final thoughts. We Made You is trash. Still excited for Relapse. Chea.
