It is not supposed to be powerful. It's her song, it's her vision and it's obviously the right one.

Also this should be compared to the glass-cracking live version of Rihanna's, not the studio one which only proves that sound engineers are real miracle workers.

Hmm ok im a bit confused now.So Em had the song,then got Skylar's hook on version one,but decided to have Riri sing it?And Skylar had second version done and expected Riri not to like it?Offcourse she liked it,she thought it would be as big as the first one.

This sort of thing actually happens a lot. If someone makes a song, and then wants to offer it to other artists, the best way to give them an idea of what it's meant to sound like is to have someone else sing it. A LOT of "beta" versions of songs that get leaked have a diffferent vocalist on them. Especially hip hop songs, because, the rapper will want the hook there when he's experimenting with the beat, and the lyrics, etc. It's just the obvious thing to do, from the rapper's perspective, have someone else do the hook in the mean-time while you're deciding on which vocalist you want to have sing it, and from the producer's perspective, as, to be honest, I reckon a lot of decent beats would get turned down by rappers, as they might not be able to imagine a good hook over it themselves.

So yeah, this sort of thing is quite normal.

Skylar's version is so much better than Rihanna's/Eminem's. Soulful, dark, yet calm, engulfed in an aura of reality-esque drama that we all can face on a day-to-day basis. It just sounds better.

skylar is one talented girl, but she can't sing. I mean, this is just awful, let's face it.she just doesn't have the voice, and as much as I don't like rihanna, she is waaaaaaaay better than skylar in any version, even the live one. I can't believe people actually think skylar is GOOD, better than Rihanna? C'mon.
she should stick with writing songs, but singing them? hell no.
