C'mon man, it was just some aids
This is the exact reason why STDs are just going unnoticed and spreading at alarming rates. We have got to take this condition seriously. Think about the impact this will have on his fans. I will not let Eminem die.

Yeah, he bought that mansion with money that he earned. He invested a lot of hard work and got a return.
Did he work hard for the one million dollars in this 30-second ad? Or did he say a couple lines and show his face? It was a quick buck.

His hard work is what makes him able to make a "quick buck". If he didn't put in all the work coming up, he wouldn't be payed the 9 mil today. It wasn't really a quick buck, it was a profit that is almost two decades in the making. He has established himself as a brand name. That ain't easy.
Amadeo wrote:Yeah, all that hard work over two decades was all done just so he could have the opportunity to sell ice tea.![]()
It was all leading up to that life-long ambition of his.
EminemBase wrote:FreeSpeech wrote:Since when is it "selling out" to use your image to make easy cash?
Lmao... Man, seriously
I quite like you so am not trying to be a dick but, that line just looks like you're trolling or makes you look very silly, to anyone who truly understands the term selling-out.
Eminem does not = ice tea. But Eminem did now once = ice tea, for a price-tag. Ice tea has nothing to do with Eminem, he's endorsing a product for cash. What do you think selling-out means? The key word there is selling, though... out is just as important.
He SOLD (out) his name / image / likeness and 'artistic baggage' to Lipton Brisk ice tea, for a period of time (30 seconds in ad time) to allow them to use it to leverage their product. Selling-out does not get much clearer than that man. He cheapened his name, selling-out = compromising your image, or integrity FOR money. That's why it's called SELLING-out.
He put a price-tag on his name. He lessened the name Eminem, by associating it with a random product, which he openly endorsed by default, for MONEYYY.
And ps. the "Love the Way You Lie" as selling-out is... I mean you got this shit totally backwards to be fair lmao. It's hilarious to me how you consider... a, realistic, brutal song about domestic violence with Rihanna on the chorus (THINK ABOUT WHY HE USED HER!!) - A very public victim, of domestic violence, one of the most famous in recent times...
It's hilarious to me you consider THAT selling-out and yet consider endorsing ice fucking tea in a commercial as totally fine? You got them totally reversed. He put Rihanna on the chorus to create a paradox man, and the song itself... just because it happened to of been a no.1 - Since when has the easy route to e a hit been realistic, angry rapping about two lovers beating the shit out of each other?
The song is not compromised, in its execution or intent. Where as, Eminem - the rapper, actor, lyricist - randomly giving Lipton Brisk ice tea the power of all of that, for a chunk of change - is a compromise by default. It's whoring his name out, it's whoring out the Eminem brand.
It's like prostitution. Imagine his name as a pussy, what did he do? He leased the pussy for a period of time, for money. Sound familiar? = Selling-out. Does a whore have integrity.
PS. For the record selling-out is NOT confined to art. Paris Hilton is a sell-out, because she compromises her integrity and dignity. Eminem doesn't have to compromise his MUSIC to be a sell-out. Eminem the artist never goes away, was it Eminem the normal guy doing that ad? NO. It was Eminem the superstar public figure... Therefore, he's in 'artist character' and is leasing that for cash, and being Lipton's bitch. Slim Shady sold his cunt to Lipton.
You can be a sell-out as a person, artist and publc-figure. And that's what he became when he did that ad, just because his music is in-tact doesn't justify THAT. Doesn't have to be in his MUSIC. He's a public-figure. Eminem is a brand name in itself.

If someone offered you a million bucks to make a funny commercial for a product you (I'm assuming) like for the biggest game of the season of your favorite sport, you wouldn't do it?
Plus, I think of it this way: Yeah Em has a lot of dough, but it won't last forever. Wouldn't you wanna take care of your fam for as long as possible? Maybe that Lipton $1,000,000 will be feeding Hailey's great grandkids?
