I think the Pre-Grammys start about 2 hours before the TV Grammys do, about 5 of Eminems nominated awards will be given out during that.

Will Eminem go up and get those or is it just some tv shit?
I wanted an album so rugged nobody could touch it.
Spent a million a track and went over my budget.
Now how in the fuck am I supposed to get out of debt?
I can't rap anymore, I just murdered the alphabet.

Em won his two grammys last year in the pre show. He wasnt there. I don't think he was at the primetime show last year at all though.

Since he is going to be at the primetime show this year he may accept the pre show awards. I wouldnt bet on that though.
Eminem is the G.O.A.T Rapper.

Radio songs and singles are usually performed at award shows and on fire is niether of that besides even if he did perform that song it would ruined by the annoying censors just like last years performance.

Plus when it comes to numbers (which is fact) Recovery album & singles sales dominate Relapse's, if not for Recovery Eminem would still be in has-been land by now, not preparing for his big grammy night with 10 nominations.

Perhaps Relapse wasn't as successful as Recovery (the most successful album of the year) but I think people underestimate its success way too much. Not only Relpase also won Grammies and became multiplatinum, did you look at him as a has-been in 2009 when you signed to this board? Every artist has some great/successful and some not so great/successful CDs but if Relapse put Eminem in the has been land than the majority of the mainstream artists has to be in that land, based on the sales alone. You can have high airplay and you can win awards but if you can't sell enough records, it doesn't mean a lot in the business where money are the most important.

not my words, I personally don't like to bash anything but that's what most article said/saying about Relapse and I got their point.
To make it clear:
1. Eminem was away for years, his last hit song people remember was in 2005, pop world is very fickle and CAB is just a forgettable song, WMY is a joke and people were laughing at his "comeback", yes they did laugh, I still remember after the stuff with Bruno ppl keep talking about how his comeback "failed" and he's a joke & he had this coming...
2. His "presence" in 2009 was weak, he was away from the music world & away from the news too. "Every artist has some great/successful and some not so great/successful CDs" but they still did other things to keep themselves on the news to be relevant, Eminem only has music that's why when his singles failed he has nothing else to hold on.
3. Relapse sold 3.5 millions ww with a re-release & no real hit single, I wouldn't call it a flop, but definitely a disappointment.
And I must say, airplays & news make people more relevant than record sales, most people don't know the numbers unless they look it up. Katy Perry & Rihanna don't sell a lot CDs but they're on radio all the time, that's why they're so popular.

People can say whatever they want to. Look how many people gave Recovery a bad review. They were laughing at him after TES came out saying he became soft. Yet, his fans enjoyed his presence. For every hater there was a fan. If 3,5 million people bought your CD and 70 million people viewed your video on youtube, it wasn't that bad.

Yes, many of his fans expected something different and were disappointed but if people in general thought he was really a has been, Not Afraid single would have never stormed the charts the way it did, without no initial promo. The success was possible because his brand was still alive and his fan base was still existing and strong. Maybe pop world is fickle but Eminem was never a typical pop artist. He's a crossover artist that besides his music has actually something more valuable than airplay, publicity and media interest. Something you can't buy with promo. Huge and loyal fanbase. The fanbase that prevented him from being a has been even in times when was hiding.

If you think airplays and news make people relevant, then Lindsay Lohan is a super star. Yet, no credible company wants to work with her. She's popular but who gets the check? Just bunch of paparazzi that sell her pics. Airplays and popularity are nothing but an empty bubble if you can't sell. On the other hand, you can still sell and earn money without being on the news and radio. It's irrelevant whether people know how much you sold. This info is relevant only for your label. When you can't sell and your label won't make money, you'll get dropped, even if people thought you were huge. It's business. Hollywood is full of poplar reality stars that are all over the media, yet nobody wants to work with them.
