I went away and balled for a few hours and came back to listen to it expecting to still dislike it. However, I don't mind this song as much as I used to. I still dislike the beat, mostly during the hook, but I like Em's flow in the first verse and the hook is actually sung pretty well.

A 3, just nothing outstanding about it, no memorable anything. Sigh, and to even think I was expecting a song that had a message, kinda like Stan.

To me, it's too early to rate this song accurately, I've only listened to it a couple times. Hasn't it only been out for a matter of hours? Anyway initial thoughts are, I had def. hoped for something better, I know Em is capable of making good songs that can also be popular. I don't understand the need to go EXTRA poppy like this but it's whatever, it's not going to destroy my life. It's still undetermined of course but it seems it was likely a mistake to name this album MMLP2, he could have named it anything else....I'm not saying the album won't be good but maybe he should have picked a different title........I actually think the album will be really good........only time will tell tho I guess with both of these concerns. Anyway although I'd hoped for better, people on here are overreacting of course saying it's the worst song ever and the end of his career, pathetic. Intimal reaction is I don't love it and I know he's capable of better but I certainly don't hate it either, it is what it is and i'm cool with it.

I feel like I'm meant to be in a meadow while on psychedelic mushrooms picking daises and dancing to my salsa.
that is how this song makes me feel, it doesn't feel dark and i get the concept but the beat doesn't help set the mood. I feel like Interscope/AfterMath forced him to do this song as a proper radio single to really boost the variety of the content the album is perceiving. With that being said I could enjoy this song without Rihanna's vocals it drives me loony, I voted a 7 based on lyrics, and well over-all creativity to he add. Although he couldn't do much since hes rushing the beat I still gave him props.

8 I have been a fan since infinite days and kinda feel like em and i grew up together. I definetly understand his evolution especially being older and a family man. Its something that happens as you grow older. You mature and evolve.

Not as bad as people are making out. Like his My Name Is, TRSS, Without Me era - he is following a formula that has allowed his albums to gain popular success. The Monster will be a mainstream hit, although I don't think it will be as highly praised critically as LTWYL. Lighters was a track I hated at first, but I appreciate it now and it allowed BME to get some mainstream attention (whether or not that should be the purpose of BME is irrelevant).

I listened to the iTunes version 5-6 times in the gym this morning and I didn't mind it. I think the fallout is due to the expectation Rap God set and the title 'The Monster', Frequency being on the beat - people were expecting a go hard track. It was a let down in that sense.

Seeing the album track lengths -I'm still pumped for this album and I think it will be better than Relapse and Recovery.

so dissapointing. everything was fine (key word fine) until i heard the awful chorus. i was not expecting much with rihanna on the track, as their collabs are always kindof shitty. but i was not expecting it to be this bad. i ws cringing. soooo dissapointing. i cannot imagine him in a studio fucking nodding his head, saying this is dope. cuz its just not. like, da fuck.
