The poll didn't ask what I thought his best album was, it said if I could only have ONE, which would it be. I've been a fan since day one, and when SSLP, MMLP and TES came out, I played those mofo's TO DEATH for years. Like, to the point where I had to put them on timeout because I'd just worn them out.
So regardless of what I think is his best album, Recovery right now for me is the one I'd choose to have because it's at least new and every time I listen to it, I'm still finding nuances and new things about it that I like. No doubt, though, that like the others, I'll eventually play it to death, too, and it'll have to go sit in the corner. Not there yet, though.
Not sure how well I explained my choice or if it makes sense.
