-The beats
-The "angry" tone
-The wack punchlines
-The fast flow, which doesn't allow us to catch the multies....How many listens did it take for you to realize "smell blood" rhymes with "help up" in "No Love"?...Yep
"This dude doing this interview wants me to spin a few,
Lyrics while I tie my tennis shoes in the nude
A romantic interlude in a livin’ room,
In an inner tube with a dude with a bit of lube
Fuck that I’m sniffin’ glue, sippin' gin & juice,
And a little bit of paint thinner with my dinner too,
You better pay me for my bars like your rent is due,
Now hurry up and finish dude before I finish you."

Man it grinds my shit when people say this lol

Is it so impossible to fathom that people can just genuinely not like something?

And for the record, to the whole "you liked it when it came out thing"; look what forum we're on. We are on TRShady.com. Fucking Eminem fansite. Pretty much everyone here is an Eminem fan. No matter what, for most of us it's almost inevitable that when a new album of his comes out, we get excited (no homo). It's just a reaction. We got excited when fucking Encore came out for God's sake, despite how unaninmously shit it is. But after the initial reaction, when it really starts to sink in a few months down the line, that is when you can form your actual opinion imo. Plus, you act like people are saying Recovery is 100% terrible, which nobody is. But if there's things about it we don't like, i don't see the problem.

Okay, but do you not realize it's the same fucking shit every day? People saying "Recovery is better than Relapse" or vice versa and people going "Em sold out, I hate his voice, stop screaming, stop punchlines"

Seriously, we KNOW the criticisms. And you're right, it's not impossible to change your mind. But, seeing as how Recovery came out less than a year ago, I don't see too many reasons why people would do a complete 360 and bash the album now. Encore would be understandable because we've had 6 years of that fucking album to grow to hate it. And, what's worse is there wasn't NEARLY as much bitching about Recovery until these collaborations started coming out. And then suddenly, Roman's Revenge (for example) drops and people start saying "he screams too much" and they go on to criticize Recovery. Which makes no sense, because RR has nothing to do with Recovery. I'm not saying YOU did this, but people have done this, I've seen it.

Surely, you understand what I'm trying to say

I do, but equally all the threads about "omg stop bashing Eminem" are equally annoying

I agree too many people make threads just to complain, but some people are just like that i suppose lol.

Surely you aren't trying to say there is an equal balance between Eminem hate and appraisal threads :confusion: Seems like for every 15 bashing threads, there emerges one supportive thread.

Just my two cents.

Doesn't matter about the quantity, the fact still stands that threads like this are both equally annoying.

Seriously, Eminem's a big boy, he can defend himself.

Yes, but we know what people like about the album too. Maybe it's getting repetitive, but it's kind of hard to forbid people to express their opinions on something unless they're bringing up a completely new perspective on it. And this particular issue - when is Em at his best, what do we like best, etc is obviously going to be discussed a lot on an Em fan forum. So...

Besides, I am happy that so many Em fans are thinking and critical. Not just "WOOOOHOOOOO OUR HERO IS THE BEST!" all the time like Stans of other artists are.

(Not counting you among the non-thinking and uncritical.)

Where did I say people can't express their opinions? I am not classtheking, I don't completely dismiss people's views. I was just saying it's getting annoying, hearing the same shit every day. Good or bad

Kez is on the money with this. when you first listen to new music you either love it or hate it. Then when you listen to it again in a couple months you may love it even if you hated it the first time or vice verse or you'll love it more then you did the first time because you realize how good it is or hate it more because you find other reasons to dislike it. Either way peoples opinions do change about music pretty quickly. I hated Music Box when it came out now it's my favorite song off of Refill.

-Corny punchlines out the wazzu. Can't take anyone seriously who says all of this garbage.

-Touchy-feel-ey production. How many fucking singing samples does he have on there? It's WAY over-the-top. I like one spoon of sugar in my coffee. This was about 25-30. When I first was listening to the album I felt like I needed to take a cold shower. You see this cliched picture of Eminem walking down a road by himself...and then track after track has an emo singing sample. It's cheesy and embarrassing.

-Too much shouting. There, I said it. Eminem needs to realize his voice doesn't sound good when he does that.

-Major regression in lyricism from Relapse. Sloppy rhyme schemes, sloppy flow. Largely unfocused...which is unacceptable from a guy who had done such a dramatic return to form so recently.

How could good songs such as Not Afraid and Love The Way You Lie be surrounded such garbage songs like Cold Wind Blows or Almost Famous? :shakehead:

Fail if either ironic or serious. All four are great songs.
