Em has longevity, don't worry about numbers.

I had to register and de-lurk after literally years of lurking, just to agree with this. I'm really confused by all the negative emotions over Em possibly selling in the 700,000's. Like why are people comparing Justin Timberlake's numbers? JT's album came on the heels of his being out of the game for literally 7 years. Dude had two of the biggest selling albums ever and just stopped making music. Of course the anticipation/hype/expectations for the 20/20 Experience were going to be insane. And yeah Drake sold something like over 600,000 but Drake is only what 3-4 years in the game?

People need to look at the bigger picture. SSLP came out in 1999 and more than a decade later Em can still push over 700,000 albums in one week and people are going to whine about that? Especially when album sales aren't what they used to be when MMLP was selling a million albums in one week. Lady Gaga has barely been around for five years and already, her sales are starting to decline because no way she's going to sell close to what she did for her last album. Katy Perry keeps having hit single after hit single and can barely push 350,000 copies of her album in her debut week. And this after people like Katy and Gaga promote the hell out of their albums and show up just about everywhere.

Anybody can have a hit song, a hit album but when an artist can say they're still at the top of their game more than a decade into their career, that is real success.

The prediction will increase over the next few days. This album will have consistency over the whole week rather then just everyone going out to get it on Tuesday. 800-900k I think.

Definitely possible... but even if it didn't sales would still be amazing considering the phase of Em's career.

He is not selling 1 Million. The average music fan cannot relate to this album. It's not exactly pop, it's not pure hip hop, it's not pure old skool. I don't know what it is.

It's not a double album people.. An example of an album counted twice would be Outkast Speakerboxxx/The Love Below

Just to clear things up, in terms of sales this will be counted as one CD but in terms of RIAA certification it will be counted as a double album. So it will be certified platinum 1st week no matter what.

No, it absolutely will not be. It is not a double album. It is a deluxe album. The other disc is a continuation of the first disc.

"This just in, MMLP2 has already sold 1 million copies in the first day."

That would be GOAT.

Here is how they predicting Justin's sales:

3/20: "we’re upping the previous 600k first-week estimate on Justin Timberlake’s The 20/20 Experience to north of 750k."

3/21: 800-850k

3/24: @jtimberlake album just keeps growing. As of this morning it looks like it will be in the 900-950k range.

3/24 (2): continues to outpace expectations, blowing past estimates of 950k, with an outside shot at a million, according to industry sources.
