Yeah but I'm sure he has a team of analysts that determine where he has room for growth. If they thought he could push 1 mil in the US I'm sure they would have tried to do so. But his promotion was massive, let's not forget that. It's not like he just assumed he's move some units and said fuck it. He had huge banners in times square and shit. I can't even imagine what they paid to cover the side of a building with his picture tbh. With COD, the VMAs, SNL, and being the new theme song for Saturday Night Football...the dude was everywhere. At some point it will just become overkill.
