We get almost no material so I don't know. Although, we DO know he's experimenting with rhyming his fuckin' ass off again and writing complex. Every delivery is an experiment to me.

Ah ok. I wish he did more guest appearances on mixtapes. I think you get a better idea that way and hearing him on some different, experimental beats would be an extra plus. I think that's the area where he really needs to do something different: the beats. Maybe better beats would inspire better flows etc.

I disagree.

When I think of Eminem, I picture a certain sound. He went against that with Recovery and that was ultimately it's biggest flaw. I think he should recruit a group of five dope producers at the very very most and work with them. I want coherency from song to song, not a batch like his last album sounded.

I don't think the biggest flaw of Recovery was the fact Em went against his assumed sound as, every album has been different to be honest; not just in his rapping style but also in production style.

The Slim Shady LP sounded funky and liquidy, it was like, groovy, acid-rap... The Marshall Mathers LP was louder, rougher, brasher, more of a g-funk, piano-driven style... The Eminem Show was pure rap-rock, he encapsulated that sound and that was his aim... and so on...

So I mean, yes - despite the fact Em changes his writing and themes (loosely), and rap style and production, and even though Recovery was by far the biggest step in new directions, I think its problem was that it wasn't cohesive. Which, you pointed out, but I think had he picked 1-3 producers to work with rather than a whole batch like that, it would have worked.

I would have preferred him to produce it himself. The rapping and songs as a whole on Recovery, I think are fairly brilliant, production is the only true letdown for me, but more-so the lack of cohesion as, there is some good production there, and some of it works, but it's, disjointed and messy.

I might be the only one here but I feel as if had Eminem produced Recovery, it would have sounded too much like TES. Not that it's a bad thing, but I'm glad he's branching out to different producers to capture a different sound. It's interesting to see how he executes his verses on production from people like Alex Da Kid or Just Blaze. It's not usual Eminem production and the more he raps over those types of beats I feel he'll get a knack for them and eventually be able to rap smoothly over them.

I understand that his flow is usually choppy on that type of production, but like I said, it's still interesting to see him experiment.

I do agree on the statement on Recovery being a cluttered mess.
