He has his mainstream flows that made him famous, but really tho, hes able to switch up his styles...i could make a long list of amazing punchlines hes done, he misses a small amount of times...Truthfully, for any of the styles he does, hes one of the best...I think he shoots for a newer/younger to rap fan on some of the punchlines. He has a whole new group which is newer to Shady...If he was too cryptical or deep, it would go over alot of mainstream fans heads..

It's not about him being cryptical or deep on a "poppin' shit" type of song, it's about him spitting a hot verse and that's all. And hot Eminem verses have crazy flows and jawdropping rhyme patterns and not Young Money style punchlines.

Em is a hit miss with punches, his punches on 2.0 boys were a big hit.

Em is a lyricist i honestly dont give a whole damn fuck abt the content and subject

with his rhyming he can make u a great content and subject.

examples are as the world turns,my fault, criminal, stay wide awake and many more.

Truthfully, for any of the styles he does, hes one of the best...I think he shoots for a newer/younger to rap fan on some of the punchlines
The devil ain't on a level same as him!

Also, for Em too to release music, he prob trys alot ideas in the studio, which hes trying to have fun or does'nt plan on releasing, which we all get our hands on from leaks...I look at the music he actually releases...Probably the top 10 punchlines off Recovery beat most of the punchlines in rap out nowadays...

I couldn't be bothered to read through 8 pages of posts to say

I don't mind punchline emcee's, i mean when it's done right, it undeniably dope but when Em does it, it feels like the most random ranting about nothing and crucially, it fails to engage or hook you. On 2.0 the verse he does is forgettable. The problem is people think that only multi-filled lyrics & punchlines make a song great, it can but it ain't the be all and end all

I kind of agree with this and the OP.As much as i like 2.0 Boys,i probably won't listen to it in 1-2 months. At first i thought it was about the shouting (tho it didn't bothered me on Recovery),but then i realized i don't listen to some of the tracks that came out since Recovery cause there's no story, just a bunch of punchlines, that don't really fit his style.Maybe that's why i find myself listening to Relapse more then Recovery..
