It's better than Encore and Relapse personally but not Recovery.

There are low points on this album for me that weren't on Recovery.

Yes Recovery had WBD, WTP, and LTWYL on it, but I didn't find those bad enough to skip. They were meh, but not bad to the point where I had to skip them every single time I played them.

I have to skip STIW, Headlights, and The Monster every time I play the album. So much so, that I decided it would be easier to make my own playlist with those 3 songs off the album.

The highs of MMLP 2 may top a lot of Recovery (Bad Guy, Legacy, Evil Twin) but those lows can't be ignored.

Also, Recovery had fresher subject matter. Maturing and overcoming addiction.

This album really has content dealing with his mom, his rough up bringing, etc, like he didn't do that for the overwhelming majority of his career.

Lyrically he's in top form, the production is better and more cohesive than Recovery, but some songs are just unlistenable and the content left a lot to be desired in some aspects.

All that being said, it is a very enjoyable album. It can't beat the big 2 or even big 3 if you consider SSLP a classic. Eveyone here should be in agreement that it's better than Encore. So 3rd or 4th place is as good as it can get for a lot of fans I'm sure, depending on where they place Relapse and Recovery.

For me it's TES>>MMLP>>Recovery>>MMLP2/SSLP>>Relapse>>Encore

:shakehead:
I'm sorry but how could you even kinda think this... Recovery is his worst album by far. There isn't one thing good about it in comparison to his other albums. Completely disagree.

If everyone makes a list, then let me also make one:

SSLP>>>MMLP>>Relapse>TES=MMLP2(=8 Mile Soundtrack)>>Recovery>>>>Encore>>Infinte

Not based on quality, because I know MMLP is his greatest shit out there. This is just based on what I listen the most and what I like the most. Tyler the Creator said Relapse was his best album, so don't judge me for having Relapse as his third greatest album :P

I'm listening to Relapse now and... oh my god. No way.

MMLP2 doesn't touch Relapse.

It's easily better than Encore and Recovery though.

But Relapse >>

I love how Headlights is supposedly a skip song now......it's underrated as hell now. That song is a fucking 10.

VINTAGE, I also like Recovery more then Relapse, but not MMLP2. Also.....I fully believe EmBase has circle jerk parties while playing Relapse. That album has gotten so fucking overrated on this site. I'm glad in real life it's still seen as a decent/solid Em album, nothing more or less.

I see it like this.

RECOVERY
Great: Going Through Changes, Ridaz
Really Good: On Fire, Seduction, Almost Famous, Untitled
Good: Cold Wind Blowns, Space Bound, So Bad, Session One
Solid/Decent: Talkin' 2 Myself, WTP, Not Afraid, No Love, Cinderella Man
Mediocre: Won't Back Down, 25 to Life, Love the Way You Lie, You're Never Over
Crap:

MMLP2
Great: Legacy, Brainless, Headlights
Really Good: Bad Guy, Evil Twin, Baby, Groundhog Day
Good: Rhyme or Reason, So Much Better, Rap God, So Far, Love Game, Desperation, Beautiful Pain
Solid/Decent: Asshole, Stronger Than I Was, Wicked WAys
Mediocre: Survival, Berzerk
Crap: The Monster

I think MMLP2 has more songs that great, really good, or good. Yeah it has the lowest point in The Monster, but it doesn't have as many mediocre or just decent tracks as Recovery did. Also I can feel the passion Em is spittin' with on MMLP2, he sounds like Eminem again in the sense that I can't imagine anyone other then him on the majority of these tracks on MMLP2. That was an issue with Recovery for me, even though I will ALWAYS maintain REC > REL, but Recovery had so many songs where the uniqueness of Eminem was lost.

Encore is Eminem's worst album. I think you're #teamencore though so I forgive you. But you're still wrong. :flutter:

I think I like Recovery more then Relapse and Encore because those were the only two times I listened to a new album from Em and generally felt disappointed. For whatever reason.

Encore probably because it followed three flawless albums, and because it contained of the worst songs he's EVER released. Relapse probably because it was his first album in 4 1/2 years, and wasn't the level I was expecting or hoping with all the "Slim Shady is coming back on this album" expectations. Also....I know people around here don't mind the accents, well a lot of people did, and I guess I'm one of them.

He ran them into the ground, dug them back up, and ran them even further into the ground. I feel had he done it for only a few tracks, maybe 3AM/SS&D/SWA, and then done the Music Box or Deja Vu voice, it might have been different.
