If you like the rawness of the track, you're probably not going to want a hook on it. However, I do think the pause was for a hook to be added later, but Eminem then decided the song wasn't good enough for Proof. That's what he says in one of the his album dedications. He tried to make a song for Proof, but none were good enough. I think this track is one of those. There's also probably a lot more of them.

or i think more likely this is an unfinished tracl, the beat is simple and doesnt sound mastered and there is such an obvious pause for a chorus

i wouldnt be suprised if you saw a lot of youtube versions of this song over the next few weeks with various people laying there vocals on the chours.....could be very good

atm im finding this song pretty much unbearable to play, not cos its a bad song, jus cos its so depressing it makes me want to shoot myself...

he ends the verse with as difficult as it sounds.....like the chorus will maybe be uplifting: as difficult as it sounds, he will be able to move on and get over this

Sorry for posting twice, but...

In my opinion, a hook would take value away from the song. Anyway, it's not meant to be uplifting. It's not meant to talk about how it will get better, because this wasn't made by a happy Eminem who had gotten over it and moved on.

I certainly agree with you, but I felt just him repeating it once more would do the trick.
Aswell as if you made his tones different, the first time he said "As difficult as it sounds" should be up
and normal, as for the second time he says it should sound sort of like a "sigh"

I dont fully think I made my point as well as I wanted so I just mixed it a little bit in Audacity.
It might sound crappy but this is where I thought the second time he says it should go. As well as
how it really should sound. Plus I just wanted to get my point across so I dont do much trying to hide
the beat on the second time so it clashes. Go ahead and just skip to the part where he goes "As difficult as it sounds" and you'll see how I am trying to say.
