Agree or disagree?

Postby RainMan44 » Nov 22nd, '10, 06:02

"Untitled" was one of the songs that make you feel like you're hearing vintage Shady. Also, "On Fire" The rhyming in "On Fire" (both internal rhymes and multi's) are insane.

Btw, anyone else get reminded of "Marshall Mathers" when listening to "Untitled"? I mean, flow-wise?
"This dude doing this interview wants me to spin a few,
Lyrics while I tie my tennis shoes in the nude
A romantic interlude in a livin’ room,
In an inner tube with a dude with a bit of lube
Fuck that I’m sniffin’ glue, sippin' gin & juice,
And a little bit of paint thinner with my dinner too,
You better pay me for my bars like your rent is due,
Now hurry up and finish dude before I finish you."

Me too. Althought i saw many ppl on this forum hating on the song.... dont know why i love it, amazing beat plus good verses
I wanted an album so rugged nobody could touch it
Spend a million a track and went over my budget (Ohh shit!)

Untitled sucked.

The beat for "On fire" was....on fire....but the song still left something to be desired. Maybe like...an actual chorus.

Untitled is definitely vintage Shady. I like On Fire too :y:

But Marshall Mathers?...not at all

Untitled doesnt remind me of vintage Shady at all, certainly not Marshall Mathers. Vintage Shady wouldn't have said "You got a hot butt like a lit ciggarete" or "every word comes straight from the fishes ass, other words I'm a bass-turd"

On Fire does a bit though. One of the few songs from Rvy I'm still listening to.

Aside from a few dumb lines, I really liked untitled, especially his flow on that. But yeah, on Fire, that song def. reminds me of some of vintage shady.

I've always loved Untitled, On Fire not so much. There's a few great lines in the song but the song is just...weird. Doesn't really sound 'good' as a song. I guess you could say the same about Untitled, but it made sense with it being the bonus track and him just rhyming about random shit to finish off the album.

I like Untitled. I'll have to re-listen to understand how it sounds like Marshall Mathers though. && On Fire is one of my favorite songs of the album.

Maybe you didn't understand the idea of the song. He was trying to say he doesn't care what the critics or mainstream fans think, he's doing this song for his real old school fans. Which is why he complained about critics in the beginning, and then he said "I just put a bullshit hook" :8)

Marshall sounded like he was losing his voice when he recorded On Fire. I don't bump it as much because of that. *Kanyeshrug*
I do stand up.
