Joell Ortiz Speaks On Shady Records deal and Eminem

Second Video of the interview he speaks about it.

Not much new just says they are still in talks with shady records, its in the workings. Both Slaughterhouse and Eminem are excited about it. Then praises Em.

It's going to be interesting to see if Em can make Slaughterhouse commercially successful.

Without compromising anything too.

I mean, I wonder if they're going to trust his name alone or whether he's going to try his usual 'zany' formula as done with D12 and Obie, with that cartoonish Shady overcoating.

As, they're so lyrical and almost... So, self-serious hip-hop, it's going to be... Interesting to see how they play it. Given Em's very big commercially again now though, his backing alone may well be enough, at least for a decent start-off.

Which could be advantageous to the lyrical upbringing of new hip-hop. If he can make a group that lyrically focused and serious about hip-hop successful in that way.

^^^ I would say probably not, at least for the concept of using the zany/comical formula that you mentioned with D12 and Obie, because his newest shit, including recovery has not been done in that same way his singles used to be.

Yeah I don't mean blatant though.

I don't mean as if he would dress up Ortiz in a wig and have them all dissing Lady GaGa lmao I just mean, put that cartoonish stamp on them.

Like he did with Obie. He made it work to Obie's personality. I could imagine him trying to characterize them all a bit more to define the group as a Shady group.

And maybe suggest some kind of tongue-in-cheek concepts etc.

In a lot of Eminem interviews of this year he has spoke about Slaughterhouse a few times. And about rebuilding Shady Records. He spoke about any other artists signing or anything? Someone said on here Em said he was signing to groups to the label. But I cant remember who said it. He had spoke about D-12 a few times to but never about Cashis I know he sucks.

Imagine a Shady Spesial Freestyle next year on Bet Cyper with Em and SH on a Alchemist beat :worship: :worship: :worship:
I wanted an album so rugged nobody could touch it.
Spent a million a track and went over my budget.
Now how in the fuck am I supposed to get out of debt?
I can't rap anymore, I just murdered the alphabet.

As long as Eminem is all over the next Slaughterhouse album, then it will do just fine. Infact he doesn't even need to be all over it, maybe appear on 3 or 4 tracks and that will be sufficient. I was going to say he should do the social-networking promotion like post the link to the iTunes download and alert people of it on his Facebook page (over 22 million fans), but he didn't even do that for his own album.

Their 'Slaughterhouse' album in 2009 sold 18,600 copies first week.

I think their album on Shady Records first week sales will be significantly higher than that somehow.

They are never going to be the type of group who sell and dominate with singles. But I think they will do well with their album sales.

Slaugherhouse is a nice group :y: nothing extraordinary or mind-boggling about them but they are a nice little group. I highly doubt they are going to hit mainstream because of their style. Sure Em being on a record or on their album will definitely help a lot with their sells but if they release records i doubt they would sell above 100k.

That has to one of his most underused assets. Facebook, twitter etc. I mean, he says something like "I'm in the studio with Dr Dre" and it gets like 400 articles written over a two week period. One, just one facebook post would blow up Slaughterhouse for sure
