Favourite Em Lines? (here's one of mine...)

That line is fucking genius. That's the spark his recent stuff is missing. That kind of left-field, logic-twisting wit which makes you just go "damn, he's fucking good".

Not here to start a debate about old vs. new though.

Just wanted to highlight that iine as I remembered it and love it. That whole verse is good too. Feel free to post your favourite Em lines and debate the lyricism.

That's why TES was his peak in every sense. As a lyricist, he was doing everything on there, to the highest quality.

The rhyming on recovery is good, but I would say TES is still better. Till i collapse has one of the sweetest rhyme structures ever, and he is consistent the whole song nailing it line after line.

Okay not EVERY sense then, each of his 'eras' have their plus points but I mean, every sense as an artist. He hit the roof with that album / period. Also - Just because he plays with words more now doesn't mean he's better at it. Just means he does it more.

But for the times he did play with words / ideas on TES - it fucking ethers Rec stuff.

Plus he was focusing on other aspects more-so so it wasn't as much about that purposefully. But I mean, as an artist, it was his peak. Or, as a musician certainly.

His two albums prior to that were of course more 'artistic' and MMLP easily towers above anything he's done and will probably ever do as an artistic achievement. But I mean, as a musician as a functioning songwriter and artist, TES was his a-game.
