Commercial Point Of View On Relapse.

Postby KieranLewisEM » Jan 1st, '11, 03:37

What I mean by this, is the people from mtv, Shit critics and people who listen to the success off recovery. Here is my point every time i see someone speak about recovery there always undermine relapse and say something like'He returns after a disappointing album' or 'Eminem makes his return with recovery' something stupid and ignorant like that just cause it wasn't fully accepted to the masses like recovery is.What ever you think about relapse people should not say its a disappointing album or a failed comeback without giving a proper valid reason and not just say it because it didn't appeal to mainstream audience like what these people are doing. Cause now the general reception of relapse to the world is that its a disappointing return and recovery is way above it in every way and that was his comeback as if relapse didn't exist. Personally very annoying to me

I completely agree. They act like Relapse was a sack of shit and Recovery was the best album he has ever made.
In my opinion Relapse was better.

All mainstream listeners care about is a catchy song, not lyrical value.

True to a extent but MMLP and Emshow even encore was credited for being a 'lyrical genius album' or what ever. Were as relapse is better than all them lyrically.Annoying

*Goes back to find my Killer-Playlist with songs from Relapse/Refill*
I wanted an album so rugged nobody could touch it.
Spent a million a track and went over my budget.
Now how in the fuck am I supposed to get out of debt?
I can't rap anymore, I just murdered the alphabet.

That's hardly a valid response here though is it.

Whether you like Relapse or not, to even imply it's in the ball-park of 80 minutes of farting, or something which has no craft to it is silly.

You can dislike the content but the skill on it is incredible.

Love em in the commercial sense!
Actually when you think of it..
In this day and age of digital stuff I was still surprised relapse sold so well.
I mean now that all us stans are grown up we can still walk into a shop and say;
"One copy of relapse please."
Then walk home and download kayne's new record.
:y:

I probably should of explained myself better base..My bad..

There's nothing wrong with EITHER album, so why the bitching? :coffee:

Came back to annihilate, the game's in dire straights, as I await
Word on Satan, as I drop, fall to my knees before this Quija board and I pray
Now I lay me down to sleep
I do this shit in my sleep, I’m sleepin' now, imagine if I awake
