AlexDaKid: I Need A Doctor is 1st official single (video)

I attended an LA Times music producers roundtable this evening, and one of the three panelists was Alex Da Kid. He confirmed I Need A Doctor as Dre's 1st *official* single , and talked about other projects Skylar Grey will be involved with. He thinks she'll be a game changer.

After the panel I asked him when INAD would be available on iTunes and radio, and he said he couldn't really say the exact date, but it would be "very soon". I then asked if he meant very soon as in a week, or very soon as in a month. He smiled and said "somewhere in between".

He also asked me how many copies I would buy, and I told him 100 million. He's a really cool guy btw - took photos with a few fans, was just really chill and nice.

The roundtable was really interesting too; hopefully it will be online at the LA Times site soon.

So if 'Kush' was the first single, and this says 'I Need A Doctor' is the first single, maybe it's for Em?


Anyway, if this is on 'Detox', I am prepared for a disappointment. Not because I don't like the song-the song is amazing- but because 1) this is NOT what I was expecting from a Dr. Dre album, and 2) he only has 2 verses on it.

So, pleeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaase be for Em's next album?

I wanted to ask him a bunch more stuff about Detox and Em, and if he produced any other tracks for Detox, but I didn't want to hold him up. BTW, the other two producers there were RedOne (did a bunch of Lady Gaga's hits) and Ari Levine (Bruno Mars, B.O.B., Cee Lo Green)

During the conference he talked about how amazing Dre is too work with and how much he's influenced pop culture. He also said that he did the guitars for Love The Way You Lie himself from his room in London.
