Single choice for relapse

Postby slimshadylappin » Feb 5th, '11, 17:51

This has probably been posted before but im not going to look back all those pages to find it.

Everybody is mad about Em's decison to make We Made You the single but what are his other options.

Beautiful is the only other song i Could see as the lead single but IMO doesn't represent Relapse for what it is .

We Made You shouldn't have made the final cut to the album, it was a bad song. If he wanted to go with the same theme throughout then songs like WMY, Crack a Bottle .. even Beautiful just don't belong

who really cares about singles anyway, the best songs on most albums are the hidden gems that the whole world isn't singing the wrong words to

You joking?! lmao, Hello is probably the most boring song he's ever made.

We Made You was the only logical choice for the first single. Like it or not, it was, and We Made You was made out of nostalgia, in the Relapse style, of course

This is what I was trying to say. There is no other reasonable choice. Having Hello as a single would be :facepalm

I didn't say it's not good, it's just painfully boring. The lyrics are top-notch

I agree on the lyrics part 100% , but it's not that painfully boring okay it's not catchy enough .

We Made You is probably my 3rd least favorite Eminem song of all time
I would have gone with Hello...that beat is amazing

I would have probably chosen either Hello, Medicine Ball or maybe Old Time Sake as the lead single.

Trust me, with that delivery, he wouldn't have made it in the Top 20 like he did with We Made You. His delivery on Hello is dull and boring (lyrics are spot on 100%) and the beat is okay, but the tempo was far too low to make any kind of impact. We Made You was fairly popular, some people liked it, some didn't. Relapse would not have been as successful as it was without We Made You

His basic intention to release WMY as a single was to make a point that he is still the same years later , that's what i feel.

Yes, and same thing with Not Afraid for Recovery, even though I like neither song.

That's irrelevant, we're talking about why We Made You was the right choice for first single. Not debating the song itself
