This has probably been brought up many times before, but I feel like I need to bring it up again. Eminem has been thorough major shit in his life, a lot of which Em brings up in Mockingbird.
Eminem has been through major low points in his life and he's matured and evolved and is a much better person because of it, and it shows in Relapse and even more in Recovery.
I ain't trying to stan or nothing, but I seriously can't understand or comprehend why folks hate on both Relapse and Recovery, or more specifically have complaints about either album. Just look at the Mockingbird video, listen to the song, and look where Eminem is at now. He's no longer at the low point where he has drama or shit going on in his life, he's actually an adult. He's taking a new direction in his life, and thus so is his music.
I guess what I'm attempting to say is that looking at the music video for Mockingbird gave me a perspective into Em's life I never knew existed, and that was made during an extremely low period in his life when he wasn't sure if he wanted to keep on making music. Looking at the video made me appreciate the direction of both Relapse and Recovery that much more: growth and evolution.
Just my two cents.
