lyrical question about rap god

Postby dwojo1984 » Oct 23rd, '13, 21:22

I don't post much but I do frequent here regularly. But I have a question about the song Rap God. My apologies if its already been discussed but during this song Eminem frequents many familiar voice styles, flows and beats. But one of them I cant really figure out which older song his flow is mimicking. When he raps the following verse, dpes this flow/style ring a bell to abyone else? The way he annunciates immediately rings a bell in my head buy I just can put my finger on it....any help would be appreciates.

"To just come and shoot ya like when Fabolous made Ray J mad
Cause Fab said he looked like a fag at Mayweather’s pad
Singin' to a man while they played piano
Man, oh man, that was a 24/7 special on the cable channel"

Very lyrical question.

The piano part sounds something like The Kids.
