MMLP2: Where will it rank amongst his albums?

Postby ladelsofgravy » Oct 30th, '13, 08:33

Tier 1: TES , MMLP1
Tier 2: MMLP2, SSLP
Tier 3: Recovery, Relapse
Tier 4: Encore, Infinite

Ever since The Eminem Show, Em has struggled in making an album that could top it and he came short each time. So far, without a single weak track of the bunch, MMLP2 has much promise to be the best album since TES.

Tier 2.

And I'd put Relapse and Encore in Tier 3 leaving Recovery in Tier 4, by the way. But nice system.

Hmmm. Well being that I haven't heard 16 tracks from the album, I'll put it where I think it will end up but hopefully it exceeds my expectations.

Tier 1: Eminem Show, Marshall Mathers LP
Tier 2: Recovery, Slim Shady LP, Marshall Mathers LP 2
Tier 3: Relapse
Tier 4: Infinite
Tier 5000: Encore

Thanks. As for Recovery, I agree that it has a lot of flaws, yet with a few of it's introspective songs it emotionally impacted me in a way that Relapse and Encore just couldn't. Recovery is great for getting pumped up when I work out, though on other occasions, it gets much less listens.

MMLP 2, is in a class all by itself, sounds nothing like his first three album & will top Relapse & Recovery & Encore.

I'm sorry.........but if the level is what we've heard, with 1/4 the album being as good as Rap God, 1/4 being as average and meh as Berzerk, and 1/2 the album being as not good as Survival and The Monster, it will DEFINITELY be in the bottom

As for Survival, at first I was underwhelmed since it seemed like a mix of Recovery, pop-rock, and the whole Call of Duty thing, but it's a song that I just am compelled to come back to, more than any track in Recovery.

The Monster was love at first sight for me, and Berzerk made me ecstatic from the start.

Rap God is probably my least favorite cuz it signifies Em going from the deliberate heavy (but still complex and multifaceted) flows to just spilling out a bunch of words for the sake of rapping fast. But it's still a strong track overall.

I'll bet on MMLP2 beating SSLP.

I think it will be his best solo album since his comeback, so that puts it above Recovery and Relapse. I def. think it will be better than Encore as well, right now I don't think it will quite match up with his other 3 (mainstream) releases tho.

Naw....no way. Slim Shady LP didn't have shit like Survival and The Monster, no way.

Unless literally every other song is amazing, including the bonus tracks, there's no possible way this album could touch his first 3 real albums.
