"Stronger Than I Was" Appreciation Thread

Postby Hadez » Oct 31st, '13, 03:23

This song is dope as fuck for anyone who's been through heart break.

The download I originally heard had the songs in alphabetical order so I heard "So Much Better" and "Stronger Than I Was" consecutively and it multiplied my feelings about "Stronger Than I Was."

Who else finds this track extremely relate-able, as if he made that shit for you?

I like it . His singing is cringe worthy at times tho. I kinda wish he just rapped over it, or just sang on the chorus , but toned down some of the falsetto shit

That song hits hard for me. Not just some little breakup, but when someone is such a huge part of your life that you define your own worth by their opinions of you. And then they discard you like trash, tell all your friends fucked up lies about you in public and basically fuck your life. That song fits that feeling when you finally realize not to let others define you and to say "fuck you" and move on with your life. It's awesome.

When people were sleeping on this song & predicting it would be one of the worst tracks after we got the tracklist, I defended it saying it was gonna be one of the best.
And it is, at least for me. Absolutely love this song. Some of the best singing he's ever done.

eh, I guess. I see plenty of threads like these in the regular section plus all the album elimination game threads that are pretty much reviews with a twist. So, I dunno

You know, I positively despise his singing on some of his other songs (Hailie's Song is the first to come to mind), but for some reason here he sounds pretty great.

And like I've said a bunch, this song >>>>>>>>>>>>> everything for me. And I looove the whole album. It's not even because I can relate to it, because I can't. It's just a freaking great song. :y:

Still don't feel like this is a serious track...it is more of mocking rappers that only sing and act like they are spitting some incredible lyrical shit. That is why he keeps saying "UHHH" like he is going hard.

It's about Bizarre.

No really, I like that he kept it vague. It makes it much easier to relate to imo.

This is possible. However, I'd like to think he didn't go through that much work just for that. Kind of a reach to think an entire song is a secret inside joke.

Is this song talking to Eminem through Kim's perspective?

A beautiful face is all that you had
Cause on the inside you're ugly, man

and the lyrics said "you walked out" and if i recall, it was eminem who divorced both times.
