I Kinda Wish...

That "Bad Guy" was a little more conversational like when he's on the freeway rapping...

Because the other bits, feels more like constructed rap / normal story rap description as apposed to like that 'live' feel like in those bits and on "Stan".

But it kind of balances it. Still a great song/opening...

It almost feels like it could work genius as a closing track too though...

If this was really his last album he could've put Evil Twin as the first song, adding, at the end, the last verse of Bad Guy he does on the different beat. And put Bad Guy as the last song of the album, with Em that gets killed by Matthew, which would've made a cool metaphor: Matthew is a fan, so it represents the fame, and it kills Eminem, forcing him to retire.
Em killed by his own fame.

The beat change section is epic. That could quite easily have ended the album I think.

I'm not that into his flow in the first half of the song but I like the hook. It's cool.

In fact, I like all the non-Em hooks but Asshole.

Well I think it's rapped in that perspective because what Matthew essentially does is chloroform-gag Em and throw him in the trunk. So Em's passed out at this point and is being screamed at from the driver's seat.

It's a fucking genius song.
"So one last time, I'm back, 'fore it fades into black and it's all over, behold the final chapter in the saga, trying to recapture that lightning trapped in a bottle twice, the magic that started it all...tragic portrait of an artist tortured....trapped in his own drawings..." - Bruce.

Honestly i wouldn't change it. Bad guy> stan - covers more topics and had better lyricism. Its fucking ungodly how Em switches from introducing the album by talking about himself in the 1st verse to going to stan pt 2 to finally having a crazy introspective beat change verse. Top 5 Em song
I walk around like a space cadet, place your bets
Who's likely to become a serial killer? Case of tourettes
Fuck, fuck, fuck! Can't take the stress
I make a mess as the day progresses
Angry and take it out on the neighbors hedges like this is how I'll cut
Your face up bitches with these hedge trimming scissors with razor edges
Imagination's dangerous, it's the only way to escape this mess
And make the best of this situation, I guess

"Bad Guy" better than "Stan"? I think that's absurd.

I love it, but it's not even close as a piece of art.

Agreed, I think he chose the wrong flow for the first two verses.

And no way is it better than Stan :facepalm Wish people would stop saying that :facepalm

You're right... Stan is a masterpiece & I've personally always loved it.
On another note I personally like Bad Guy better to listen to but that's for a few reasons & that's just me... probably other people feel the same way. Still I don't ever compare them in a way to say one of them is certainly better than the other one in general as a fact.
Both of them are crazy cinematic & all that anyway.

I think this needs to be the start of the album.

I interpreted the verse after the beat change to be Slim Shady coming alive again and saving Em from drowning, only to take over his life once more.

And then it ends saying something along the lines of "Let's pick up where MMLP left off" and segways into the Parking Lot skit which was damn near the end of MMLP1.

My thoughts too. The whole lets pickup where MMLP left off was clever and when I heard that skit I smiled (corny but true).
