He didn't. Only in the part where Matthew is talking to Eminem in his car, he says he will kill Eminem so that Eminem won't be able to make music anymore. So, there was nothing Eminem said to his fans about retiring throughout the whole album.

I think he's just speaking on his career there. He said so himself in multiple interviews that he'll quit if he thinks he can't make good music anymore, but that he sees himself in hip hop for awhile, in some way shape or form. Now obviously that could mean as an exec for Shady Records, producer, or exec. producer, but I don't think this is his last album. Would be dope if he did a SSLP2 too.

Me and CP were fucking around on Skype and guessing the hook on Bad Guy which basically means "I'd hate to be the good guy" is alluding to Em cutting it out with the homophobic lines, especially with Matthew's focus on the homophobic stuff and being mad at Em for it and hiding behind his alter-ego.

Then at the end of the album Marshall basically admits he is homophobic because him and Shady are the same person.

It could mean the concept of the album is trying to kill off him self because he might think he's getting too old to still think like he does, but he fails at the end.

Regardless, it's clear this isn't his last work Base because of all these text interviews we're getting where he clearly states it isn't.

He doesn't admit he's homophobic lmao, and he isn't.

The entire point of MMLP1 is just to become any presumptions and criticisms, and he just intentionally wanted people to not know whether he was joking or not.

If you give Em any ammo / let him know something annoys you / society, he will take it and make it a part of his character. Which is all he did.
