Would this make the MMLP2 better???

Postby NeonGameWave2 » Nov 4th, '13, 09:10

Now in my opinion this album is great and better than his more weaker albums Encore, Relapse and Recovery although those albums were a necessary life experiencing transition for him not only as an artist and rapper but also as an individual to collectively regain his original creative headspace. In my opinion this album will be considered a classic (hopefully), I myself highly enjoy the album and thought it was very impressive but I have my own personal ideas of how the album could of avoided obvious obstacles rather than mistakes, that take away some of its credibility.... or create misconceptions which leads to underappreciation...

1. Instead of naming it the MMLP2 Eminem could of easily named this album the MMLP: 2013 in which it would be a symbolic album for who he is as a person from the time aspect of 13 years ago due to the fact that the MMLP represented a personalized experience that was condensed into an adventure of lyrical mayhem and imaginative detours, the MMLP2 would be a reflection of that album 13 years to the point of Em`s change meaning it wouldn`t be a revisitation it would be a symbolic spiritual successor this could of made the album more sensible in which Eminem could of took a new direction where it would be about him as a person and about him as the different artist from 13 years in the past to the present. Its after all called the Marshall Mathers LP his original and real name its a personal album so it only makes sense for it to be personal for him even up to this point a true representation of his life story that continues in the lane of legendary.

2. I think the ending track should of had a skit or track called R.I.P that relates to the Marshall Mathers era coming to an end rather than him retiring although I doubt he is going to retire anytime soon, clarification for the confusion would be nice and it would of ended the album perfectly in sync with the beginning track Bad Guy where Eminem says goodbye and buries his memories of Matthew as well as Stan leaving the house behind him it would be about his perspective of his old home being sold as well as changed in elemental refraction/reflection/introspection to that of his personality the house has changed and the soul who used to live in that very same house has changed so he wouldn`t be closing doors but closing a chapter in his life to move on to something better.

3. I know many don`t like The Monster and I could understand why, as a standalone song its pretty good as it works for the majority of mass appeal but on an album such as this although it managed to fit well for what it was worth in addition to the content/context being justified it still takes away from the album but wouldn`t it be awesome if Eminem actually had a really dark and unpredictable skit right before this song on the album probably named as ?, Untitled or just Inside my Head? Something similar to the Intro Skit on Relapse (Dr West) with elements inspired from My Darling essentially it would begin with a moody but warm vibe then continue into a transitional transformation of sound in story where there are noises, voices, closets being opened and etc. Eminem is lying down the sun is going down and there`s voices in his head (fans mocking him, public opinions, past demons) the atmosphere is dark or fades to black as it leads to The Monster it would add credibility to the song`s purpose and create a vision for what Eminem could of intended as for Rihanna being featured, I`m not trying to be too outlandish but wouldn`t it be interesting if she was to embody a character or representation of some type of temptress or even siren, just saying....

4. I like Survival and I think its great, I used to think the track itself in all essence would for all intended purposes suit more of thematic structure of the Recovery album but I think its something altogether that is different I can see it on an Eminem LP album lol! Its more polished, refined and crystallized than the majority of Recovery (although it has that same spirit/flow pattern and stigma) but its surprising to see it benefiting from the fact of it being able to fit pretty nicely in line with that of the MMLP2 album however a part of me feels like it should of been a promotional or bonus single and that would of created a better layer for the flow to continue rather than fluctuate although you can argue this album is more of a culmination of his artistry in different forms in relation to it not merely being a throwback or revision of his golden days during the era of the MMLP. But it would of been cool if Eminem got Sly (Fast Lane hook) to perform the chorus/hook and have the song also touch on real life warfare or have DJ Premier produce the beat :)

This is just my two cents though nothing to be taken personally...

Hope you enjoy the read and agree or feel free to disagree:)

Get rid of Stronger Than I Was altogether, replace it with any bonus song, literally any bonus song and the album is much better.

Make some track list order changes (Headlights into Evil Twin? Really? Berzerk leading into Rap God instead of Legacy?) and it flows better in my opinion.

Other than that, I really wouldn't make any serious changes.

I think it would have been better if the song structures were more varied. I like how bad guy has the second part, and rap god had a long ass third verse. A little more shit like that would have been cool. song structures like on MBDTF would have been nice.
