This is what happens when you give Eminem to the man who has produced such acclaimed acts as AC/DC, System of a Down, Beastie Boys, Johnny Cash, Adele, Kanye West, Jay Z, Linkin Park, Audioslave, Rage Against the Machine, Public Enemy, Run DMC, Metallica, Aerosmith, Weezer, Black Sabbath, Dixie Chicks (wtf).... yeah you get the picture.

It's because MMLP2 is so new.

It doesn't touch MMLP or TES, and it's not as good as SSLP. But that's not a slight at MMLP2, it's a very good album.

At this point, with his last 3 albums, I was already back to TES and MMLP1... I'm not saying it's better, just that it's shocking how long its replay value is lasting, and I haven't stopped listening to it for 6 days straight now.

It's because Eminem is finally refreshing again. Relapse was genius in it's own right, but MMLP2 dwarfs it imo. Eminem was at a point in his career where he needed to work with a new producer, there was no better person than Rick Rubin. I always asked myself why they hadn't worked together before... Rubin's style is rock-oriented and Eminem is a sucker for that sound. It was bound to happen and it was fucking perfect.

I feel like some people don't want to call this album a classic yet because it's so new.... give it time, this album will stand that test and be regarded as one of his best once the right amount of time has passed. If Relapse got better with age for those that initially didn't like it.... MMLP2 will get even better for those that already consider it a "very good" album.
