How will MMLP2 songs be looked at a year from now?

Postby Riis » Nov 6th, '13, 23:09

The general opinions of albums right after they come out are usually significantly different than they are a year or two later. For example, Recovery was seen as a fantastic album to almost everybody at the start. (I am an exception, I actually had very high hopes for Recovery then was insanely disappointed by the leak so I cancelled by pre order and never bought it, I despised the yelling and I didn't understand why everyone liked Recovery)

Now, people think of many songs on Recovery much differently. Nobody really likes Not Afraid anymore, CWB got hype at first and now people don't like it much either. The list goes on.

So how will MMLP2 songs look in a years time? In my opinion.....

Bad Guy-I have a feeling opinions on this song will drop slightly, because lets be honest, the first 5 minutes could have been better musically. However, it will still be viewed as genius.
Rhyme Or Reason-Same
So Much Better-Same
Survival-I will get hate for this, but I really think that people will like this song significantly more in a year from now. This is a good song, and it is a banger in the car. People just have a bad taste in their mouths from Recovery but this song is much better than Recovery. The chorus beats maybe every Recovery hook and the flow is not as fast and unenjoyable as the flows on Recovery. People will come to realize this over time.
Legacy-I think this song will go down as an Em classic, even if it isn't released as a single. People will adore this song and but it up with his best.
Asshole-This will be viewed worse than it is now. Very little replay value in this song and you can thank Alex Da Kunt for that.
Berzerk-People will love the sound of this a lot more, it is a fantastic song when you listen to it with the rest of the album.
Rap God-Same, will age very well also
Brainless-Same
Stronger Than I Was-Classic Em emotional track, kinda like Hailies Song, won't be played a whole lot however.
The Monster-Will age much better than LTWYL, people won't really hate this song.
So Far-I don't think people will listen to this much in a year, mainly because there are some low points in this song
Love Game-I think this song will be strongly disliked in a year from now. People will hate the screwing around and the sound of the track. I think everyone wanted and expected a Dre beat and nasty flows and punchlines on this song and people aren't ever going to get over it
Headlights-This will go down as one of the most memorable songs of his career and it will be loved
Evil Twin-This will be viewed as a classic Slim Shady track that bangs and never gets old.

I do. :shifty:

But on a serious note, I have no idea. I personally really like the songs on MMLP2 and I think most will age well.

Hopefully that won't happen

I still don't understand how the change from praising Recovery to bashing it happened.

Yeah that part is pretty bad, there's a few more lines like that, but I still enjoy it as a whole.

I do think we'll look at it as a classic. Or something really close to one.

I know it's still early days, but I think it's certainly the best since his comeback.

When Recovery came out it was

"OMG have you heard Not Afraid! It is one of the best songs Eminem has ever made! He isn't on drugs any more so he is going to make a classic!"

"Wow he raps so fast! And with so much passion and anger! This is real shit! Best rapper alive! GOAT album!

I heard crap like this soooo much after Recovery came out. I am a huge Eminem fan but I HATED Recovery and I felt like I was alone. I didn't even buy the album, I only bought GTC, and I didn't even like the chorus to that song AT ALL. Even stans loved it, shit drove me crazy.

I am glad people came to reality and realized that Recovery is awful to listen to. And thank God Em changed his style. I was really scared that he would never stop yelling and making shit songs.

There is no doubt about this.

And people that say Relapse is better are fucking idiots, I'm sorry. That album had 3 good songs, a ton of OK songs made worse thanks to accents, and then some pure dogshit songs. MMLP2 is so much better.

Well I pretty much predicted what would happen with Recovery.
Why can't we predict for this album?
