Experience at Live Em Shows?

Postby EminemBase » Feb 18th, '14, 14:18

I'm going to the one tomorrow in Melbourne.

Quick questions for anybody who's been to see Em live, and especially if you went to Melbourne:

1. Is it hard to get right at the front? As in, even if you get there on-time. That actually sounds retarded now I type it out, ''on time'', as if there won't be a cock load of people hella early for that.

But, I heard there's n1kkas camping outside n shit just for it which makes me think getting right down or even semi-front will be pretty hard unless you rise to that level of obsession? Which I ain't, wit ma girl.

2. Do you really have to wait like FIVE hours for Em to come on? That seems absolutely insane. That's like 2 lord of the rings movies back to back in length just WAITING for him. I understand they apparently do that to get people so sick of waiting and exhausted that to even see him results in like ecstatic relief / ups the reaction.

That's a pretty vein and shitty thing for Em to do, to make people wait five fucking hours.

--

Finally, is it worth even standing for that long / is the view worth it? Or do you think it'd be better to swap wit somebody wit seats, and how do seats compare?

Just download 2 Lord of the Rings into your phone and watch them while you wait.

I've watched him perform twice last year. One time in Belgium, where I was around 2th-3rd row, and one time in Paris where I had a seating ticket. The standing places in the front are waaaaaay better than the seating tickets, it was like Em ignored the seats tbh. The atmosphere is also a lot better standing.

And yes, it was pretty hard to go to the front, but you have to know a couple of tricks: going forward on the sides, acting like you're on the phone with someone in the front, ...
It doesn't really matter of you're 3rd or 10th row, but I wouldn't want to go for anything less than that.

Lello, his friend and I came to the stadium in Paris few hours before and it was already full of lots of people. We managed to sneak so we were only couple meters away from the door.

When it opened we all ran as fast as we could, and we stood only 3-4 meters away from the fence near the stage during the concert.

Yes, we did have to wait several hours for the Rap God to show up.

When the show was over, I could barely walk up the stairs.

I saw Eminem in Montreal and I was in line 32 hours before the show, front row experience was incredible. The doors opened at noon and Em didn't perform until 9, once the show is started, you completely forget the waiting.

Do whatever you can (waiting wise) to get as close as you can. I was about 15-20 ft from the stage at madison square garden in new york, and i wish i got in line earlier outside. It sucks, the waiting, the standing, etc. My suggestion is dont bring a drink cause if you have to piss youre fucked. But when its all said and done it's worth it :y:

In my case I regretted so much I didn't bring something to drink in my bag (even though I planned to). It was pretty hot waiting outside for three hours and my throat was so dry it was almost killing me.
The second we got in and ran downstairs there was this lady selling drinks, so I bought a bottle of Coke. I should've gotten two bottles, because the first one was finished within seconds, and I still had to be at the concert for several more hours without anything to drink.

yes it is hard to get front row. I went at 8 am (the show started at 7 pm) and there was already people that had slept in tents in front of the stadium. There is no organization. The people opened the gates for the VIP line AND the GA line instead of just the vip line. Which resulted to a swarm of people pushing and running for dear life. I had to sprint as fast as i could and fall down a flight of steps to get front row. So if you're not much of a runner or in shape your fucked lol.

This was for the Home and Home tour at Comerica park btw.

Edit: oh also forgot to mention they had one table set up where you had to get a VIP bracelet and your ticket stamped. So there was a ton of impatient people hoarded around a table going nuts trying to get through
