She's trying to get joint custordy, i guess she feels now she's clean of drugs (if she is) she's entitled to it. I dont know tho, her record is actually worse then Em's in a way. Its not like i hope hailie doesnt see her mum anymore, but Em totally changed himself in order keep Hailie, whilst Kim was went AWOL when she had court dates and stuff.

Anyone else have an opinion on this?

I think we have no rights to judge Kim! Em loves/loved her, and nobody knows the truth about that divorce.

well, before the 2nd marriage, Em had soul custody because Kim was going through all that crap, cocaine, running AWOL and all that, and kim could only visit Hailie, but obviously when they re-married hailie, was again, both theirs coz they were a couple.

So because they're divorcing, i dont think it means they go automatically back to the way things were, i think they start fresh, which means Kim can fight for joiny custody now. But if its the same law over there, then she cant have soul custody, because she has no grounds for taking hailie away from Em, especially since his record has been better than hers the last 3 years.

And even though Alaina is Kims niece, Em adopted her, so she will always stay with him (legally) although between them im sure whenever Hailie goes to see Kim, Alaina will go too, so at least THEY are together.

Eminem, his estranged wife and their lawyers met privately in a judge's chambers Tuesday but failed to agree to terms for the couple's second divorce.

"We didn't settle it, so all we did was set it for mediation," Macomb County Circuit Judge Antonio Viviano told reporters after the conference, which lasted about an hour.

Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers III, filed for divorce from Kimberley Mathers on April 5, 82 days after their second wedding.

The couple had daughter Hailie in 1996, married in 1999, divorced in 2001, remarried on Jan. 14 and then quickly separated again.

The 33-year-old rapper has used his sometimes tormented relationship with his high school sweetheart as a source of some of his angriest lyrics.

Kimberley Mathers, 31, has another daughter and is raising her sister's daughter. Eminem has been legal guardian of his half brother.

Kimberley Mathers declined comment on her way out of the courthouse. Eminem wasn't seen leaving the building.

His lawyer, Harvey Hauer, and Kimberley Mathers' lawyer, Michael J. Smith, wouldn't discuss the hearing but expressed optimism for a settlement.

"Mr. Mathers' only concern is the welfare of his children," Hauer said. "Hopefully, we'll put the matter behind us."
