i think eminem gained noteriety after KIM, i mean after listenin to that track ppl (those into hip hop) started to realise that :this kid is crazy" and then once stan came out ppl accepted both sides of him , plus his ability to devastate on tracks became more pronounced,

True, I think that would be his biggest song in terms of importance for his career, without that track there might not have been a Stan or Lose Yourself. So maybe if Eminem was asked this question he would say that song.

This is really a hard one to choose. In almost everyway Lose Yourself is his biggest song. Arguably his best lyrics, most inspiring concept, catchiest "song" or hook, most universally accepted and successful, most critical acclaim, etc., etc. the list goes on.

But you can't forget some of his other huge impacts. One being the Stan concept, like others have said. It's an amazing track, one of the best hip-hop stories. It's bound to connect with a lot of stars out there who've experianced shit like that and obviously that's why the name Stan has become synonymous with over obsessive fans. But on the other hand I think it connects with fans, who've maybe sent letters or tried to reach their idols, only to never get anywhere, it shows that maybe the artist does give a fuck, but doesn't have the time to reply to all the fans. It's one of a few genius songs by Eminem. Eminem's lyrics delivery and execution are perfection on it, topped off by a brilliant find in the haunting Dido sample.

One of the other huge Eminem songs not mentioned yet is "The Real Slim Shady". It's not the song itself that I`m making the point about, more the "Slim Shady" character. This alter Ego idea has since become hugely popular in rap, because it let's the rapper say shit they wouldn't normally be able to say because it would then be their opinion. It's a touch of Genius, but it's something Proof should also be credited for.


His biggest song for me, that made an immediate impression on me, was Kim. I literally hadn't listened to rap for about 5 years, until I heard that song in a mate's car. I quickly asked who the fuck was that? Bought the album that week, and was then delighted to find out he had another previous album, rest's history. Huge fan ever since.

and to me lose yourself definitely wasn't his biggest song as in influenced other rappers. incase you didn't notice slim shady lp was his really big project that got peeps respect. most rappers call eminem slim shady till this day. so i just feel that it musta been a song from slim shady lp that got ppl saying wow. lose yourself only got him the awards and told others emcees i go harder each time. and alot more fans, but still its no way lose yourself got him the buzz from other rappers. unless if your talking about souljah boy rappers who are young and shit lol

There was no particular song that got him respect from other rappers. Joining with Dre was almost instant curiosity as to what he was like. Then the rhymes spoke for themselves. He got himself serious props dropping dope freestyles on The Wake Up Show before he even met Dre. Even from the start of his career, you would oly hear other rapper talk about the ill white rapper Dre had coming out.
