Will Proof's death make Shady better rapper than ever?

Postby SacJB Shady » Nov 22nd, '08, 08:11

I mean, you do have to admit that over the years Eminem lost his shady type touch. he simply was living the good life and had nothing to write about really. And that is why his style seemed half assed effort. But after Proof dying, do you think it will only be towards Eminem's advantage to become HARDER than ever? Will he use this anger to push him to be the harder darker shady that we once loved? Or do you think he handled it maturely over time and wouldn't take it out ONE HUNDRED percent in his flows? He is more mature now. But he was really affected by this. And also, Relapse is the title of the album. sounds more interesting than Encore title. This might be his best album, he just may surprise us.

well, Proof living basically made eminem a great rapper, I'm not sure if it works both ways though.

not necessarily, if he dedicates this album to proof, I just can't see it being bad, but then again I haven't seen him do much to keep proofs legacy going either.

well all i know is that in his book he talked about how he couldn't move or talk for like a year and went he spoke, made no sense. So Im hoping that would make us see a darker side to him. He has something legit to write about. toy solder was good. that was even before he died. now imagine what he can do. I see it as motivation for em.

I think Proof's death will help in the sense that it'll force him to write with emotion again. He'll have to give a shit. It'll definitely bring out the sadder, angrier, grieving, tormented sides of Em. I just want him to utilize them and keep making great music.

And yeah what's goin on with Iron Fist Records (I think that's what Proof's label was called) anyways? If Em died Proof would have kept Shady Records going without missing a beat.

well i don't know about u, but to me it seemed like he was kind of depressed in encore too. I mean the songs just gave you this eery feeling. You know what i mean? It wasn't like happy club music like without me? not even really fun music. gave me this dark feeling.

I feel like he did Encore just to put out another album. I don't think he was inspired. I don't think his heart was in it. If you listen to it it sounds like Eminem doing a very average impersonation of himself. He had the song about kim. The song(s) about Hailie. A pop club type of song as his 1st single. A song with Dre and then his "crazy shit" which wasn't that crazy. It was just kinda... I dunno... blank I guess?

Well, the name sure tells it all, Encore. I change my mind. i listened to shady lp again first time in long time, and its way more exciting. yah Encore he tried all this new stuff that just didn't seem to work. I mean for some of the songs, the beats were very boring. I think most people could have came up with those beats. yah seemed like he did it overnight and was just bored so he rapped. but i admit i do like encore, evil deeds, and just lose it. also toy soldier and yellow brick rd. One shot two shot it's like when I listened, I didn't know why he made it. My first single wasn't that good either. A lot of these songs, are kind of like those fake songs you see on youtube. Just very plain and depressing. But maybe he did it that way to surprise us with a comeback??

Rofl

Some of you people are so fucking stupid

His best friend is dead. Now, if it was me, that certainly wouldn't make me think "right, time to get in the studio and make amazing songs". I'm surprised he's even doing it, but i can't see the death of your best friend having any possible effect that is even slightly positive.

Because anger is what fuels this lyrical genious, don't you think that alone will make him work harder than in Encore? When Em was mad at the world, he was his best. Yes, it may have set him back from the studio, but now after some time don't you think it will just make him work harder at his songs? Like when Michael Jordan's dad died, Jordan came back and won for his dad. I'm not saying its good proof died, but maybe it will give Eminem that fuel that seperates him from the rest.

that's true too. But I was thinking without something like this happening, Eminem won't have the firepower to be a hard rapper. With this, I think he is pissed at the world and will do anything to let out his emotions.
