Eminem movie

i just saw the movie notorious for the first time and i thought it was ok. no where near as good as 8 mile but still a decent movie. it got me thinking, do you think they would ever make a movie about Eminem and his life growing up to become the rap star he is today. i no that he did 8 mile and everything, Em stared in the movie but and character was based of his struggles growing up as a battle rapper. Im talking about someone playing eminem and making a whole movie about his life. from childhood getting beat up and bullied, to rap battling and making it big, showing how he just blew up and how crazy his life was after SSLP came out. I feel that a movie like this would do amazing in the box office. way better then Notorious. so many more people can relate to eminem so i feel it would have a better following when it came out. Id love to see it but doubt it will ever happen. what do you guys think?

it's a cool thought. but i don't know if it would sell. it's all about money. i mean it has to be able to grab some director's/producers attention. not to mention get budget backing.

I doubt Eminem would do anything like that... He had already explained all that stuff in his raps... almost every fan of his knows what he had gone through that time...

Absolutely not. Not only because it would exploit Eminem as an artist 'cause we all know his life story by now, but a story with that many events is always hard to execute on screen. I believe that's why 8 Mile turned out better than Notorious because if you think about it, 8 Mile took place in a one week period. It had a simple story line that the average person could relate to on many different levels. I watched Notorious, and as someone who was already fairly familiar with the story of Biggie, even I felt that it was too rushed and things weren't explained enough. Because the movie moved so fast, it didn't allow the audience to truly connect with the character and understand exactly what Biggie meant to the Hip-Hop community. And that's what makes movies successful, is when it stirs some type of emotion within its audience. Notorious failed to do that.

Putting Eminem's entire life story onscreen would be a nightmare. Unless they're willing to make the movie 7 or 8 hours long, then maybe it'd turn out decent. But otherwise, I don't think it'll work. Especially after reading Em's book The Way I Am... Em went through a lot of shit. Each phase in his life could easily be turned into a solid 2-hour movie.

Yeah, I agree with TruEmFan.

Em's been through hell and back. Like TruEmFan said, the movie would have to be extremely long to do his life story justice. Em lets us all know about his life through his music, which is IMO better than seeing it on screen acted out.

(But if a movie like were to ever come out, I'd go see it for sure lol.)

I really liked 8 Mile and my friends, who aren't Eminem fans at all, liked it too. It's a movie, not a biography, so anyone can watch it and like it, even if they don't like Eminem. But it still mirrors Eminem's life in different ways: the big picture being a white guy trying to make it as a rapper in Detroit and little details so fans are like "Oh, yeaaah. He's mentioned that in an interview before." Like the paintball gun scene. Or when those guys beat the shit out of him and held him at gunpoint. That sort of stuff happened in Em's life. But people who aren't Eminem fans don't know that but it still makes for an interesting story.

i dont think its a bad idea but like TRU said the movie would have to be really long cause if they tried to cram everything into a 2 hour movie then it wouldn't work out

id lose a lot of respect for em if he did, n i kno 8 mile isnt about his life but its still a movie about a struggling white rapper tryin 2 make in Detroit, there for the whole concept of a biography style movie would be extremely corny and cleachay. Also if you watch the making of 8mile in the special feats. of the dvd curtis hanson is quoted that em told him personally that he has no interest in making an eminem movie where he'd play himself.
