Are you more excited for "Relapse" or its follow-up and why?

Postby Relapse.LP » Apr 14th, '09, 02:41

I've been a humongous Eminem fan... since January 2009. Yes, I may be a little outdated for the music of this time, but I hugely respect his work; all his albums. (excluding Eminem Presents: The Re-Up [2006]) I can say that my anticipation for his upcoming solo studio-album Relapse [2009], the first in 5 years after a hiatus since Encore [2004], has been building up since February. I'm wondering how long anticipation for his album has been building...? Surely, not for 5 years. I would go crazy about it. And... him releasing two LP's in the same year. Is that good? Do you have high hopes? I find it strange, although excited, for him to release Relapse and its follow-up same year because it might overlap his singles and combat his chances for higher album sales. It might not. Who knows? Anyways, please spend some time giving me thorough explanations for the hype and your expectations.

definitely the first Relapse...cuz that will establish "the sound" we can expect to here on the second album...i've been saying this for a while: if the first one is absolutely jaw dropping, go ahead and call the second one "King Mathers" cuz then you can back your shit up

honestly i just wanna be 'wowed' for once by an album...MMLP, TES, Tech N9ne's Killer, Chamillionaire's Ultimate Victory (maybe not a popular choice but one of my favorite albums of this decade) and Lil Wayne's Drought 3 (hate all you want, its my opinion :tounge2: ) are the only albums/mixtapes this decade where i've said "WOW" after 1 listen through...i doubt Relapse is gonna be a "WOW" but it would be pretty sweet if it is

Yea obviously the first one, we've been waiting soooo fucking long for this and it will set the tone for whats to come in the Relapse 2. We are still waiting to see if Em still has the fire, and the skills thath e used to (or close to it). We still haven't been totally impressed by his recent songs, so hes really got a lot to prove. But I do think the second one will be more aggresive, and more dissing other rappers.

I still don't get why em dont just make it a double album. When his second album comes out, his singles from the first one will probably still b gettin plays on the radio. I bet Relapse 2 comes out around this time next year, they are just tryin 2 build anticipation probably

Well there's him making money for one. But ok forget that.. Also, wouldn't we rather have an extra album of his? 6th/7th album.. if say both are classics, although I don't feel I HAVE to respond.. some of my friends really erm, 'dislike' Em.. I can then shove down their throat TWO great Eminem albums :)
I'm not so good with the advice... Can I interest you in a sarcastic comment?

Yeah, I was gonna mention the $$ in my comment but i forgot 2, but does em really need more money? no he doesn't, hes one of the richest performers alive. He owns his own radio station, clothing line, and record label for fuck sake. And about that 2 classics point, yeah i see what your saying. But if it was a double album it could b kinda like All Eyes On Me, which is a classic double album and to me thats just as impressive. But I do see what your saying, but it just makes more sense to me if it was a double album

I have a feeling your friends will instead shove these 2 albums down YOUR throat...but I HOPE Em proves me wrong. I wanna believe his new shit is gonna be great but there's just nothing to back that hope up with. "We Made You" is poo on a stick with a candy coat over it, "Crack a Bottle" sounds like an amateur rapper who gets 10 plays a day on myspace, and the last "album" with more substantial material (Re-Up) sounds like he's been swallowing 50 Cents "gangster" loads
