Do you like Eminem's fast flow?

Not saying I hate it...but I'd much rather him relax on a few songs on Relapse. I miss his old flow..this one is too fast IMO (not that I can't hear/understand it) it's just not as good. It has a less focus on words too...If some of the lines in Won't Back Down would have been much better with a less frantic, more melodically type flow IMO. too scattered...

I know what you mean. I loved it in the despicable freestyle, but after hearing it again in this song, you miss parts of the lyrics & some good punchlines. But to me, thats more replay value, so each time you listen.. you pick up something new

I like his fast flow as long as there is meaning behind it. Think about songs like Kill You, Solider, 'Till I Collapse. His flow is fast on them and he's angry but there is a lot more meaning behind his words. Won't Back Down is just a bunch of random ass lines all thrown together with no meaning behind them. Do I think a lot of the punchlines and metaphors and amazing and genius? I sure do. But that's not what makes a great song. I listened to Won't Back Down about 6-7 times yesterday after it leaked and I doubt I will again for a long time.

I fucking love it, this is a flow any rap artist would wanna own but most of them couldn't do it in their best moments for sure. The 'Eminem is the greatest ever' arguements in barbershops would get deeper and deeper and more people would give him that exactly cuz of that machine gun delivery and those rhyme schemes.
Doing that skills wise is kind of like the football/soccer equvalent of what Christiano Ronaldo could do in his best moments, even though the comprison looks kinda ridicilous. Imagine a cypher on a steet where people compete and they are either 'wack' or 'nice' and if that's the bar, machine delivery like that with those lyrics would be 'stunning'
