Eminem as a performer

Postby S.T.A.N. » Sep 7th, '10, 20:34

How do you think Em has evolved as a performer over the years?
PPl here mostly talk about his rapping or acting or looks, but now i want to discuss about his performances.

His live performances are bad ass
though he has changed his style up from his previous performances in the 1999-2005 era
his 2009-2010 performances look nice but his style is different now.

In my opinion he is still quite a way off from his performances back in the day. But he is a lot better now than he was this time last year. Hopefully he'll continue to get better and better.

I would'nt say he has evolved at all... in fact, I'd say he's regressed.

When I look at the AMT DVD's and then look at his recent performances, I wish he'd act the way he did on stage now as he did back in the day.

Imo through the Relapse era he looked fucking stupid; all that jerky dancing and holding the mic sideways shit. Some of the performances for Recovery have been a bit better but he is nowhere near what he used to be. The only one i'd say he's better than now is the Encore era where he was getting chunky (AMT3)

i thought he was only acting like that just so that it appears that relapse era was bad for him. I mean Relapse was recorded in 07-08 , and he was sober in 2009. Why would he do awkward movements like that? Maybe to fit with the accent, but if it was not then its definitely intentional.

Uh, why would he want to intentionally make it appear that his comeback era was bad? Surely you would want your first album for like 5 years to be good and would try to make it so? Eminem aint Jigsaw lol, he didn't plan to make Relapse suck balls so he could talk about it on Recovery.
