Letter to Hip-Hop

This is a quick sixteen that I wrote, recorded, and mixed today. You'll understand the concept when you listen to the track so there's no need for me to explain it.

The lyrics are on the soundcloud page so you can read them there

You know what I think of this.

Your rhyming has gotten loads better. It sounds so smooth and effortless when you rattle those multis off. It's great to hear.

I love the message of this. You aren't taking any shit and I love that aggression from you. Keep doing what you do, yo.

Listening. :shifty: By hip-hop you mean Jesus right?

I've heard this beat used before. Probably Cryptic Wisdom. The intro has a really annoying echo, not a big deal but it's just not nice on the ears. I like the concept. You could have made a nice full track out of it, but the 16 was well executed. Your flow is really good here, particularly because it's non-stop without obvious punch-ins and no huge gasps of breath. Since your verses are so consistent, I'm wondering what are you personally trying to improve on while rapping so feed can be more focused on a specific area? I don't have much to critique and if you told me what you wanted to improve on I suppose it'd be easier for me to put that aspect under a microscope. But yeah.

Good point, and no I mean hip-hop. A lot of people discredit me in the hip-hop community because I make music about my faith; regardless of my skill when it comes to flow, delivery, lyrics, and mixing. Anyways, what I've been working on lately are my lyrics. I think I've stepped up big time when it comes to them because I use to use really basic rhyming patterns but now I use multis but I still think I have a lot of work to do when it comes to writing.

Thanks for taking the time to listen bro!

Yeah I know you meant hip-hop, I wasn't being serious (I wrote it before I started listening). At least a lot of people on this site give you just credit. And yeah, I can see your rhyme schemes improving from what I've last heard of yours, so that's great.

Too short, it was awesome though. I really like your voice(favorite out of everybody here that records), flow, and message. It was a home run man. Hot 16 right there.

Dope mixing and rhymes.

But content's more important.

I gotta respect you for keeping your concept to what you want.
Yeah fuck everybody else man.

Not gonna lie I myself am a Christian but am afraid to display Jesus' name on my songs.

Inspiration...

I think that your voice could be a bit louder on this. I do like your voice but i wish you would do different things with your delivery sometimes. Your lyrics are good though and your multies hit quite nicely on the beat. I feel that you could probably have more flow switch ups than you did on this but overall it was good. I have to say that the subject was great on this.. the intro tells what the song is going to be about and then you showcase that throughout the song and did a good job of it. Dope song though man

loll killing it as always. i mean you make a valid case for.... i'm not exactly sure loll. I can't explain why nobody wants to bump your ish, it may be that it is sooo focused on Christianity, ppl just scoff at it. if you treated it like NaS and only occasionally reference god and what not people might find it more bearable. again, we've had this conversation before and your gonna do you regardless but this is a great testament (pun intended (smh)) to the frustration you feel for not being taken seriously. the only fault i can find is that this concept could be two more verses. and i know you got a killer hook brewing loll

mind critiquing mine? its called AhdduB - LFT Intro
