Zingy and G Unit Call for Players' Help to Free Yayo.
Zingy, the leader in mobile media, announced 'Free Yayo' in the US, the first game to be released through the exclusive mobile publishing agreement with G Unit.
"After successfully creating top-selling original personalization content, Zingy is excited to continue its collaborative partnership with G Unit by expanding into mobile games," said Scott Debson, Vice President of Licensing and Publishing. "G Unit fans around the world can rely on Zingy to create new and unique mobile games, packed with attitude and action."
Free Yayo is a fast paced easy-to-play arcade shooter. The storyline of the game follows a futuristic fictitious evil record label called O-Corp and its battle against G Unit, who refuses to distribute O-Pop music. When Tony Yayo is kidnapped by O-Corp, the mobile player can help fight back and become part of the G Unit crew as 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks or Young Buck. The ultimate goal is to rescue Tony Yayo and free the world from the dominance of O-Corp.
The game has a unique set of incentives including exclusive G Unit ringtones and wallpapers that players can "unlock" and download as they achieve higher scores. The "unlockable" mobile content is only available to game players. There are multiple game levels as well as network leader boards that encourage players from around the world to compete with each other for the highest score.
Zingy has teamed with leading developer and publisher Upstart Games to produce the G Unit: Free Yayo title. Upstart will also distribute the title in the European, Middle Eastern, African and Asia Pacific markets. "Zingy has done a fantastic job at lining up a winning brand with G Unit," says Barry O'Neill, CEO of Upstart Games. "We're excited to showcase challenging gameplay with exclusive unlockable content as well as deliver an entertaining story that will appeal to both G Unit fans and gamers alike."
Fans can expect to play more mobile games based on the G Unit crew in the future. Free Yayo is the first in a series of G Unit games that Zingy plans to release as both 2D and 3D games in the upcoming months.
Free Yayo will be available through carriers globally in 2006. Pricing and distribution can be found at http://www.zingy.com.
