I hope there could actually be a skit like this on his next record.

Yelas or em's? There is a 0.1111 % chance of steve berman being on skit on yelas album he does not make enough cash for him.

I think it could be funny as fuck on Yela's album even though it won't happen.

It could be like:

Secretary: Mr. Berman, Eminem is here.
Steve: Send him in.
*Door opens*
Em: Hey Steve, long time no see!
Steve: Marshall, sit the fuck down.
Em: What's up? I haven't even dropped my record yet and your already pissed? What's wro-
Steve: I just watched Yelawolf's video for "Gutter" and I gotta ask, where the FUCK did you find this guy?! He's showing fetuses being chopped up, and a guy getting decapitated. He showed a fucking DERANGED MAN, dressing up like a fucking woman and killing people. What the FUCK is this SHIT??!!
Em: Well actually I don't have a whole lot of control over the videos I mean it's mainly up to Yel-
Steve: Get the fuck out of my office.
Em: Steve if you would just relax a little and let me explain that Yelawolf is truly talented artist and-
Steve: I said get the fuck out-
Em: NO STEVE! YOU GET THE FUCK OUT! I'VE BEEN TAKING YOUR SHIT FOR OVER 10 YEARS AND NO MORE WILL I BE YOUR BITCH YOU MOTHERFUCKER.

*Eminem slams fist on the table and theres the sound of someone getting slapped*

Steve: Marshall, You ever talk to me like that again, I will kick your ass.
Em: Yes sir...
*Em leaves the room*

whats most disturbing is the fact i install gutter for a living, and his van had to fucking saying gutters on it.

but im past that, loved the video. it was fucked up in a fucked up way. i interpreted it as the kid was the guy at the end (it was that guys son if you checked the credits), and idk about the skater kid. I assume he was gunna eventually kill the kid.

Great video, it was very artistic, however somewhat disturbing. Anyway, it's official. Yelawolf remains on of my favorite up and coming emcees and I can confidently say Yelawolf > Slaughterhouse, D12, & 50 Cent in all aspects except for fame. I hope that he gets big, it's too bad Interscope is holding him back rather than up. I hope Interscope doesn't fuck with Kendrick Lamar's, Ab-Soul's, and Schoolboy Q's careers like they have done to Yelawolf. None of these artists should have to deal with that, they are too good. At least Top Dawg Ent. kept creative control, that way Interscope can't fuck with what songs make it over to the final product, but I hope they promote that shit good. Apparently they will becasuse Kendrick says Interscope is practically dying for his debut album to be finished and in their hands, in fact he said they are eager. Let's hope he's right and that they cut Yelawolf some fucking slack. He's too good of an artist to not be recognized.

idk if he's better than SH, but its diff comparing a group to a solo artist. I agree with yela being dope, i was a little surprised by his choice of content on his debut tho, as well as the number of features, especially most of them being random ass artists imo. I hope he makes some hardcore shit and goes back to his roots, shit like box chevy were so unique and great, yet random and unexpected for a rap song.

They weren't random ass, they are from his Slumerican Records imprint, mostly anyways. And I think Slaughterhouse's solo material fails to compare to Yelawolf's discography except Joe Buddens. I do believe he shits all over their work as a group. And as for his debut, he isn't doing that mainstream sounding shit any more. He thought it was his only chance at breaking out and the label fucked up on the promoting side of their business and let it gather dust. And I agree with your last sentence, he is going to do that he said and it's not like he hasn't stopped doing it. Made in the U.S.A is a some what patriotic song (which isn't normal in hip-hop), although it is tinted with some sarcasm. Also, on this new mixtape he was just straight forward and open about his feelings toward Radioactive and his situation (not original but still a great thing to do. Props to Yela). Finally, on Father's Day he does something I've never heard a rap song about, giving props to real dads and celebrating father's day. He hasn't stopped being innovative.

I think you took what I said somewhat differently than I meant it. I don't know his whole slumerican records label so to me they were random, but even the hooks, but mainly the fact that he had so many features kind of made it a yelawolf featuring album more than a yelawolf album.

I listened to him before he got signed, and i know i havent heard the majority of his material, but i could tell he had massive talents, but on the album, if i were to not have heard his previous shit, i'd never have listened to him again. I did like a lot of songs, and yes made in the usa was unique and is one of my fav songs from the album, but again, had a feature for the hook.

My point is, the dude was unique (like em was for example), but wasnt unique on his debut, and i do attribute a lot of that to the label. I just want more of yelawolf and not yelawolf doing shit he thinks will make him big or what yelawolf is told to do by his label.

I agree with your first comment, I would like less features. And yeah, his older material is the shit. I have compiled nearly his whole discography on a list in this section of the forum if you were interested. You'd have to dig for it, however. Finally, I agree with the last comment.

The songs that I truly loved where box chevy, get the fuck up, and pop the trunk. They were so unique in their own way, and tbh i had heard some other songs but those were the only 3 i listened to multiple times, and box chevy/get the fuck up the only ones i have on my itunes. I mean it was raw, and he was clever and unique with the skill and ability to rhyme fast, slow and with different deliveries to compliment the subject matter...not to mention he sounded so different.

Radioactive to me was just a bunch of radio type tracks (some i really liked, including radio...but again a feature, even tho i loved the hook, but he had such short verses) and some attempts at being raw. Animal was one of my favorite tracks and felt like the prior yelawolf, but again a feature. It doesnt hurt it, but when you consider it as an album its like he took the easy road or was completely controlled by the label to do certain tracks.

I liked those three songs a lot as well, but I didn't like Radio too much, in fact it was the only song on Radioactive I have played once (by the way it doesn't have a feature). Finally, Growin' Up In the Gutter, Animal, Get Away, Radioactive's intro, The Last Song, Whip It, I See You, In This World, Slumerican Shitizen, Made in the U.S.A, Everything I Love the Most, and Write Your Name were my favorite songs off of Radioactive. Those few were the shit when it came out. Let's Roll and Hard White were good too but I overplayed them when they were released, and Throw it Up isn't as bad as people say it was, I liked it. Also, the label didn't require him to do it, he did it that way by choice because he saw it as his only chance to break out. Now he feels like it doesn't matter since Interscope sidelined him from the beginning anyway, which is why he said he is going to make the music he wants to make now instead of mainstream shit. That being said, he would have probably been forced to include some mainstream tracks even if he went the Trunk Muzik route by the label in end.

well i consider a feature to also mean someone else on the hook, but thats just me. Cause I mean, it did feature someone, but I understand how others would not consider it since someone else didnt "feature" on a verse. I actually liked his more laid back tracks on that album (radio, write your name, born in the usa, everything i love the most) as well as animal, throw it up, lets roll, and maybe one or two im forgetting.

But lets roll i think he coulda attacked more, he went too soft in a way on that, and everything i love the most was dope as fuck and to me was one of the songs that felt like his old self, but lacked some of the yelawolf fire that he had. idk, i just expected something different, he didnt totally disappoint but he at the very least really threw me off with the content and song choice of the album.

No, Yelawolf sings the hook on Radio. And I agree, Radioactive could have been infinitely better and he knows it and he could have done it, but I still loved the majority of the tracks even though it was a little detached from the Yelawolf style I came to love on Trunk Muzik. His mainstream style isn't as bad as some artists but I would take his original style over that one any day.

Menzo wrote:"Animal" is dope as fuck, and Fefe kills the hook so I'm happy with the entire outcome of that song.

That, and she isn't just a random feature. She is his girlfriend. The only random feature is Poo Bear, the rest fit the songs just fine and/or know Yelawolf personally. Yelawolf explains a lot of the features in an interview about the album with Complex when it came out. Personally, even though I rather Yelawolf sing and do the hook, the girls he got weren't bad at all and added something to most of the tracks they were on. Though I'd still prefer his rawer side than the mainstream style he used on these songs with the girls, and I'd prefer him doing the hooks.
