Will Yela's appearance hinder him from the mainstream?

Will Yelawolf's appearance (beard, OVERLY tattooed, mullet-hawk, grill etc) hinder him from breaking into mainstream superstardom? I can not remember a time when there has been a superstar or semi-star with those characteristics. Not saying his music will be mainstream, (plenty of musicians have made non-mainstream music and have been superstars. Eminem with MMLP for example) but I just can't see him being that appealing to the mainstream audience right now.
Let's face it. Most artists are marketed sometimes for their appeal, and Yela doesn't look like someone the mainstream would listen to. I personally don't care for his appearance because I love Yela's music and he is my second favorite rapper, but do you guys think? Do you think it will affect the reaction of the mainstream when (and if he does) break through hugely? Just a thought.

EDIT: There have been a few exceptions. Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, Tyga to name a few rappers with an unappealing appearance that are pretty huge, but that is because their music is VERY marketable. But I guess anyone can be huge if they are promoted correctly.

I actually think that this new look (the beard, tatoos, glasses) might just be weird and unique enough to become mainstream. Weird is the new cool. Remember how Em inspired an entire generation of white teens to bleach their hair and wear white shirts? Yela could start a new trend.

It just depend on his music and how he promote it. He had a big chance with Radioactive but they fucked it up big time. With what I heard on that new Trunk Music mixtape, no way he'll break into the mainstream

Weird is the new cool. I don't think Yela will ever be a mainstream rapper who could go gold, but with the right managing and a strong single you never know.

Yelawolf is a lot more marketable than Slaughterhouse. If Em was on one of his single and if they focused to make a hit, it's very possible.

Yela is one of those pretty boys who definitely could be very appealing... even with like a little beard but he'll definitely look way less appealing with a bush on his face for the masses & for probably all of his female fans.
As for the core following... I personally couldn't care less even if hair was showing outta his nose or ears as long as his music is hot.

In my opinion, I think Yela was at his most marketable state when Radioactive dropped. Man. If they promoted THE FUCK out of Radioactive... it could have been mainstream gem. But yeah, I think Love Story will do up to 300,000 in units overall when it drops. Yela's got a buzz going with TMR. Hope he capitalizes of it.
