If he signs Slaughterhouse it'll be a real success.

well i think it will continue to be successful do to the fact that he is finally kicking out all of the shitty artists and bringing in people who might generate a buzz and if they don't i see them being kicked out as well :smoking:

Is Aftermath successful? I mean, Aftermath has had way more pushbacks, and artists drop from the roster in it's time. I don't know, I think that these smaller labels (with major backing) just operate differently. I think Shady Records was started to sign artists with styles that Eminem valued and thought he could bring to the forefront. In that respect, I believe Shady Records is a success.

I'll always scratch my head though, at the signing of Bobby Creekwater and Cashis. Stat Quo was odd enough, but those guys...

right now its failing but its no eminem's fault. but when shady was doin good they were up there.
i think d12 was good obie n 50 were good choices to sign, but after that the next 3 were bad. he probably shoulda signed royce back in 02 that would of been ill

They're making millions of dollars, so I'd say it's a success. Although the roster has been weak at times, the big players are always there (Em, 50, D12) and they ALWAYS generate tons of interest, fans, money, and music.

I think Em needs to keep his ear to the streets more though to pick up some new good talent.

heres tha truth, proofs death thru a huge wrench in the entire shady records machine, things started going downhill in that time period because of a number of things, First of all, DJ Green Lantern wouldve made the Re-Up a classic, no offense to Alchemist, Proof passed around the same period Lantern left, Em got back on drugs, Obies second album didnt sell well, stat was always bein pushed back and him and em fell out, just a lot of bad stuff happened during and after Re-Up.

Yeah, it happened awhile ago I believe. Stat didn't agree with a song Em thought should be his 1st single off his official album, and things went downhill from there, lol.

back in 03, times were great, good music and great profits but now, with only Em and 50 on the label to drop anything since the re-up it's been a miserable failure on both fronts
