rap is on another level of expression of emotion

while other genres get more intune with like..idk its hard to explain those are just my thoughts

I don´t agree. Just cause lyrics in rock songs arent as 'to the point' as rap lyrics doesnt mean they arent filled with emotion, you just gotta listen to it another way. Sometimes i listen to a song and the lyrics are so deep and usually metaphores that combined with the instruments (where each bandmember put their absolute heart in) it sends chills down my spine. Sometimes the instruments are enough to set the mood and express the emotion that the lyrics are just an extra to tell the story more detailed.

yeh man, im with you, its the overall imput from the band that gets me in so much, im not a huge listener to rock or any other genre but i do listen, and i get a different feeling like..ok this is goin to sound so fucked but, in rap the rapper gives you everything the emotion ect. but when i listen to rock songs or alot of other genre's, the singer is giving me his/her emotion on it, but then sometimes its like the guitar is thinking a different way, example the singer is like "i love you take me back" the guitar sounds like "fuck her she can get to fuck" the drums are like "chill the fuck out" then the piano is like "lets all get along"....yeh very bad metaphor but its like every instrument is puting its imput into the track, and i think that goes down to 5 different people actually writing the whole song, one on lyrics one working the drum pattern one hitting the chords ect. it gives alot more musical feel that rap hasnt reached in many years imo.

like i said, stan, is the best example i can find for hip hop in recent times, were eminem is portaing a character who is potraining one emotion, dido is giving another emotion, then the beat is bringin the dark feel.

i wish more rap was like this, imo thats what truly is dying from hip hop, the musical sound.

i agree with most of that but what im tryna say is like...rap cant be compared to music like that because it is on a whole nother emotional level not higher or lower just seperate...rap is ment for people with a true love for literature and rhetoric imo...and rock, blues, country, r&b music like that is ment for people who wanna get in touch with a deeper feeling of emotion...rap is like the surface of a painting where you only see raw colors and canvas...other music is deeper where you actually get a full feel of the artists impression the brush strokes...the vividness of tone and hue....not sayin that rap cant reach this level it defnitly can rap is still a farely young music genre...rock and country and what not have had alot of pre-game time....

Rap'll never be more musically deeper than most genres beacuse of it's main strength, it's variety, i mean from club tracks to evil psycho tracks to songs about the hood to falling in love and so on, you could be usuing a whole lot of different styles from different producers which is more refreshing because stick to a certain sound and it'll sound samey and people slowly lose intrest.

For example, "Who Needs Actions" by Plan B is a great album but for the most had the same guitar/string/piano combo which is different but it lacked a variety in its production. And also half of rap topics aren't suited to emotion, it's more suited for storytelling tracks like Stan, but i do agree a musical content is lacking in hip-hop
