IDGAF how it's labeled, if it sounds good to me i'll listen to it, I hate the whole subgenre label thing because of how out of control it is & how many fucking sub genres there are.

BTW Slimm I've been meaning to get a suggestion for Kings Of Leon, I like the song you posted, reminded me a bit of Muse musically, adding KOL to my band list.

Good to hear man. If you like that song you should download their third album 'Because of the Times'. The first two albums are great as well but very different, it's way more rock and roll. Their last two albums have some good songs but are definitely the worst of the bunch.

You'll be happy to know breh, I'm a huge fan of A7X.
Winning!
Atreyu can get away with being metalcore too...
Mainly because they were one of the first bands.

A7X and Atreyu are amazing. A7X is my favorite band of all time. Atreyu is on hiatus though. :'(
Atreyu's drummer/clean singer's side project "Hell or Highwater" have their debut album coming out August 9th. Their first single "Hail Mary" is amazing.

Word bro, really the whole pioneers of the genre are basically the ones that fuse the good elements of metal really..
If you look at all the powerviolence fags and the deathcore shit, you'll know what I mean when I say I only care for the big guns.

I had much higher hopes when I clicked this thread. Blink 182, Simple Plan, Sum 41 are not representatives of the rock genre. I admit to having guilty pleasures in Blink 182 and Sum 41 in middle school. However, I now find most of the music I liked in middle school appalling.

If the bands the OP mentioned as his/her high standards for Rock, I'd be willing to bet he or she has never listened to actual rock.

I love my guitar. Its just something about it which resembles GREAT, LEGENDARY classical music that i resonate to.

Havent been able to properly classify my music or anything but its just great to vibe to. The Fray, Sons of Day, Coldplay (especially the hip-hop sampled tracks), Evanesence (the gayer the better), Foo Fighters (some of it) and the whole Linkin Park Discography. Still cant see myself hating any Mike Shinoda output.

Speaking of Sum 41 and my guilty pleasure, they have a recent song that I actually like:

As an aside, "Good Rock" is a ridiculously overused misnomer. It's totally subjective and tends to be used by music snobs who think that the fact that they like a band makes the band good and everyone else sucks.

I've tried really hard to get rid of my musical snobbery. If I can help it, I don't put people down based the music they like. However, I'm allowed to dislike the artist as much as I like.
