Metal. I pretty much exclusively listen to rap and metal, and I'm sure it makes some people I know scratch their heads (and it gets you even weirder looks as a girl) but it's nice to see others who like both. I see the genres as similar in some ways in their attitude, rather than opposites.

My favorite is the 80s thrash era bands, such as Metallica and Megadeth. I like other types too, like some NWOBHM bands (Iron Maiden, Judas Priest) and some new stuff like Bullet for my Valentine. I used to be absolutely in love with Rammstein. The kind of love where everyone in your school knows. They're still special to me but I don't listen to them much in college. I have seen Rammstein twice, saw Megadeth earlier this year, and I've seen Bullet for my Valentine four times (they are my mom's favorite band, lol). Right now, my current goal is to see Metallica. They are an absolutely lovely band, despite the criticism they've received since the 90s. I tried really hard to go to their Orion festival this weekend but I just couldn't make it happen (New Jersey is pretty far away from Dallas...) But, ONE DAY.

I have to say that I met the members of Iron Maiden once. My brother was their security guard on a concert here. So I could go backstage. They were totally stoned. One of them told me something but It was years ago and my English was worse and tbh I couldn't understand a single word.

The first album I ever bought with my own money was Pantera's "The Great Southern Trendkill" album when I was like 10, always been a metal fan. I live in Tampa Florida which is basically the "Death Metal Capitol" of the world, I went through a pretty big Death Metal phase growing up where I listened to Deicide, Morbid Angel, Six Feet Under, Cannibal Corpse etc etc etc........ I still love stuff like Lamb of god & A7X

There's pretty much no band that I haven't listened to, except maybe some of the more obscure ones that only put out a demo and vanished.

When I first discovered torrents in 2008 after listening to various heavy stuff I downloaded from MP3 sties I went apeshit and grabbed a bunch of stuff; mainly Slayer, Cannibal Corpse, Morbid Angel, Cryptopsy and any other 'big' bands in each genre, and then I climbed my way down to the more lesser-known bands like Necrophagia, Vio-lator, Sadus, Asocial and whatnot.

At the end of the day, maybe it was fate that I took a liking to metal or maybe it was just me being a angry teen, who the fuck knows.
